In your opinion what is the best paid webhost on the net? I think Lunar Pages are awesome. They are quick, officiant and cheap for others.

Its hard to answer. Because if you have the money the host dosnt really matter as you would have dedicated servers at your disposal, that you would be administering yourself. But if you had to go with one for an average paid plan on a hosting site. Just do your homework. Talk to other people who use their host. And find out about their support team if your going with paid shared hosting and not dedicated. As if things mess up ou want to be sure it dosnt take them long to fix the server your sharing with somones site that took it down!

Like Jon said, it depends on the host and their features. I've been with a few hosts over the past 6 years. I happen to like Dreamhost. I've been with them for 3 years now.

I'll second Dreamhost. I was with Lunar for a while... didn't really have any issues with them, but Dreamhost just seemed to offer more of what I wanted and I'd heard lots of good things about it (heard lots of good about lunar as well though!) I don't run any ultra high traffic sites or anything, though, so I can't really comment TOO much.

They've got a lot of easy-stuff-for-people-who-dont-know-what -theyre-doing, which I've used, and lots of hardcore-nerd-stuff-for-ultra-geeks, which I've used--thumbs up on both ends. Never dealt with support or anything like that (not really 'my thing').

We should take care not to make the intellect our god; it has, of course, powerful muscles, but no personality.

There were times that my site or mail server wasn't working properly and there were no downtimes noted on the site so I emailed and it was all taken care of pretty quickly. So support is pretty good. They also have options on the support where you can tell them if you're a complete noob or if you know somewhat about things so they're not dumbing things down when you don't need it. However, I know people who had problems with DH when they had high traffic sites and ended up getting booted because they were using too much bandwidth.

ADM Hos....

My professional recommend would be Medialayer.com
You're not going to get gobloads of bandwidth or obscene promises, but they are one of the fastest shared hosts in the industry and support is unparalleled.

Anything but Fasthosts. I lack the words to fully describe their incompetance. Alas, I have to keep using them for work because there simply isn't time to switch over 100 odd domains to a better host.

Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice.

I personally recommend Media Temple and Dreamhost.

When it comes to a webhost, I like to go with the big ol' corporation. They're bound to have a better server center, better management and such. So, I use Godaddy.
