People keep complaining that they pay somewhere around $4 a gallon. Here, we're paying about $10 a gallon and it's even HIGHER in Europe.

Here's a tip; stop driving a 350 horse power pick up that does 2MPG and needs it's bazillion gallon fuel tank filled every 20 feet and then you'll notice that fuel will be cheaper if you use less.

OMG Brick-top you're amazing!

If your asking people to trade in their current car for a more, fuel-efficient one, its not really a new idea at all. Also, here in America, most of us don't like to be bothered since its inconvenient.

It;s not so much the prices themselves, it's the rate of increase gas has been going up compared to the average American salary. Not everyone's salary is skyrocketing like gas is. Many low income families can no longer afford to drive.

I happen to drive a very fuel efficient car, however what used to cost me $25 to fill up for two weeks is now costing me $45.

I have a Nissan Versa that gets 33 mpg highway & 27 mpg city, Even with that I am still paying alot. It also seems like the gas is evaporating alot faster.

$45?! Ah ha ha ha ha ha!!!

I just checked your cars fuel tank size (which is roughly 50 gallon) and it's going to cost AT LEAST £100 to fill here.

And it's still a 1.8 and it's a little....much (unless you've got a smaller engine in the range) a car that weight, size and design shouldn't exceed anything but 1.5L

Funny. A gigantic portion of the gas prices over there subsidize the comprehensive mass transit system, the likes of which are not usually available in the United States, while another significant portion is a government fuel tax.

Agreed!... finally someone who think like me!

But in my opinion, I hope in a future near of us...electric cars or other alternative cars will finally surpass the common cars we are driving now....

But Politics don't want this to happen.... since money is far more important to them than the environnement...

I have no fucking complaints about the gas prices, because there is nothing any of you people can do about it, no matter what you say or do, they will continue to get higher. And don't try to tell me "oh the economy can't allow it to surpass $10.00!!!", because we all know about that statistic already so don't even bother. Just get a better paying job if you can't afford the gas. Adapt to the ways of society.

My shit head neighbor thinks he's real smart by trading in his Cadillac Escalade. It's an EXT and he says its just too much money to drive "with gas prices and all durrr". He says he's getting a hybrid Camry to save money. But the goddamn imbecile is losing much more money, because he payed nearly $50,000 if not more for the vehicle, and the dealerships right now aren't giving shit for anything with bad fuel efficiency right now. At the most, seeing that it's an 02', has 100,000 miles, is considered used..he's only going to get maybe $6,000 at a max $8,000.00 if he's lucky. Then he's still going to have to finance the rest of the new car, which is going to cost him $450 a month, eventually equaling out to another $15,000 to $20,000 more before taxes and such. The original car is already payed off, and he was only spending an annual $4,500 a year on gas. Now he's going to cut that cost in half, but instead he's got the extra car payment for the next 72 months which is ending up going to cost him more after it's all payed off, and by that time his car is going to be obsolete and he'll already be wanting another, more fuel efficient car to meet his needs. So over the span of a 10 year period, he ends up wasting even more money than he began with in the first place before he even traded the car in. And by that time, there will most likely be an alternate solution to this "gas problem".

So really, people need to stop freaking out about this gas situation, because the only way out of it is if you have money. Either buy an expensive hybrid car, an over priced used geo metro, or some other expensive flex fuel GM or something. It's ridiculous, people are desperate to save gas, they sacrifice all their comfort just to save a few extra cents. I see morons in brand new cars not running their a/c because they're so scared to see that tank hit E. Or not going out to have fun or eat out at places they once liked so much. Some people are even standing out in the heat or rain, because they've stooped down to the level of public transportation. And trust me down here, riding the metro is disgusting. Other people either walk or ride bikes, but when you live in a major U.S. city, a bike can only get you so far before it either rains, or you just ran out of roads because the only way to get to point A to B is by taking the freeway, which you sure as hell don't want to do on a bike or on foot considering that everyone always speeds at least 40 mph over the speed limits. But what's even better, is that no matter how much all these people bitch, you see just about every single one of them continuing to pay these high prices every single day because as you can see, there is nothing that they are going to do about it. I don't even look at the prices when I go to the pump, I just select my grade, and fill up all the way till I hear a click. that tells me the tank is nice and full, and that I can go drive around and burn more money all the hell I want. Because I know those gas stations will be there just for me, the person that just doesn't care about how much they want for their precious fuel, just as long as he can get anywhere he wants.

Buy a bike or a segway
Or better yet, drop 10k on a car and convert it into an electric
Or use a horse, you can always eat it
