I have been shoping for a electric guitar,I am fairly new to playing and dont know what to buy.Mostly I have been playing a Junk acoustic, and want to buy a good, reliable but affordable Guitar.I am a pretty big Gibson fan but they are a bit to pricy, the cheapest gibson i found was a flying v for about $600.I do like Fender or Epiphone, anything that plays and sounds nice would work.I do like many Les Paul guitars or Sg's (Angus Young rocks). Fender has nice strats, but i would prefer a les paul or sg.My Budget is about $100 to $400. I've been teaching myself and are learning frets and chords but other then that im just starting.I found a bunch of guitars from a company named Davidson (see pic),The Sg is about $180,ive been thinking of purchasing that or a Davidson Flying v for about $200.Im open to new ideas anything Gibson,Fender, epiphone ect. That is fairly cheap but plays well and is a reliable guitar. So if any one has any ideas, tips or recommendations, let me know, cause im strickly a beginner. Or if any one knows good amps to pair with the guitar let me know -Thanks

But with a guitar no one will want you unless you are extremely good or are in a metal band.
Bassists are of higher demand

You should buy an Epiphone because:
They are reliable
They have a good sound
They aren´t " that " expensive
And they´re simply awesome.
You should buy a guitar depending on the type of music you´d like to play
It´s more - or - less like this:
Rock & Roll - Flying V / Explorer
Heavy - SG
Alternatnive / Grunge - Explorer
Blues / Jazz / Rythm & Blues - Archtop collection
Acoustic / Rock - Les Paul
You should also buy a Marshall amp, for grat reliability in sound, quality and also for 0verdrive
Lolsaurus

After you get good, or just decent, get $2,000 and buy a Peavey Wolfgang. There arguably the best guitars in the world and there definitely worth the price. They work well for any genre and there beautiful beautiful guitars.

Yea, because that fits into a budget of 100 - 400 dollars. A JEM alone is about $1700.
Best guitar in your price range is the Ibanez RG321.

if you want an sg, wait several years until you have the money to dish out on a gibson.
honestly, i tell everyone on this forum the same thing: if you want a good starting guitar that is relatively cheap (as far as guitars go) you cant go wrong with a mexican strat. i believe they cost between 300-400 dollars. i have had mine for years and its gone through tons of abuse. now it looks worn down and crappy, due to all the abuse, but despite its poor aesthetic condition, it still plays as well as it did the day i got it. seriously, its a great quality guitar for the price...hell! its great quality for ANY price.

Here to help! Some choices for you could be...
ESP AX260. It has some good looks and a pretty good sound. Great for metal!
Epiphone Les Paul. Good for pretty much any genre. pretty fair cost and great quality.
Fender Starcaster. Not a horrible quality. Pretty fair price.
Squier Stratocaster. A pretty popular choice for beginners. Good sound. Fair price. Sorry i couldnt find a link on Amazon. I was already on that site and too lazy to look on others. Just google it or something.
Rock On!

I'd get an Epiphone. You can get an Epiphone SG in your price range easy. Great guitars for beginners. Would last until you got better and wanted a little pricier guitar. Just my opinion.

(Hey I'm new too!) I think for a starter you should get a squire (they aren't as bad as some people think,) or get a washburn lion (that's what I have.)

DO NOT get an MG as an amplifier. Those are more expensive then their worth and they sounds absolutely horrible, beesinacan.
Get some kind of tube amp and a good distortion pedal if your looking for metal sounds. So many reasons Tubes destroy SS amps.
Go for PRS, they make cheap guitars that are of Good quality. Just stay away from Agathis made guitars. They sound horrible.

Buy a Epiphone Les Paul Studio. They are about $600. I have 2 and they truly stage worthy guitars. Only difference is Gibsons are made in the USA and Epiphones are made in Indonisa. You can play them standing up or sitting down (a big plus when your learning) I've been playing for about 3 years and while I've moved up to Gibson, I always have my Epiphones tuned and ready to go if I need them. Oh and DO NOT get a black one, thats lame, get something cool, like a sunburst orange, because thats HAWT.

or this'n My friend plays one, it's extremely versatile. He can play some KsE, and with the flip of a switch play Satriani or something classical. Les Pauls are fantastic, but you don't want to go with some starter one, you'll regret it just a few weeks later.

I think that in www.meatspin.com there's actually an offer where they are selling a Gibson Les Paul for around 400 dollars (usually costs over 700 dollars).

u want to buy a really good guitar before you can really play? i hate people like you.. good guitars wasted on people that think they can play. not trying to be insulting or anything, but since your a beginner, try to stay in the 100-350 dollar price range, you wouldn't be ready for anything more expensive
