"My journalism was an extension of my politics. The main difference was I didn't make things up." - Alastair Campbell. Errm, which one did he make things up for, then?

"an't you guys control your State broadcaster?" - Dubyuh's aide, after a tough interview on Irish TV. Guess what? We actually prefer to get answers out of our politicians on this side of the Atlantic, rather than get brushed aside with a BS line and that's all.

Oh yeah, nearly forgot:

"Everybody, boycott Swiss goods!!!" - The latest in a long line of idiotic crap aimed at the referee who disallowed a perfectly good foul from John Terry on Portuguese goalkeeper Ricardo, just because Sol Campbell bundled the ball over the line. Oh, and England lost the game.

The fact that it's the same as Americans boycotting French goods after France said they wouldn't join up Uncle Geroge's Good Time Crusade speaks volumes. Just like Jeff Jarret saying "You're either with me or against me" on a TNA broadcast.

In short: American attitudes are the same as whiny football hooligans that can't accept their precious team losing, and the Triple H of NWA:TNA.

"Raising the retirement age to 70?!? That's appalling - you might as well be working people to death!!!" - Tony Blair, when Leader of the Opposition, when raising retirement age fom 65 to 70 was mooted in Commons.

"Since £100bn has gone missing from the pension war chest, we might as well raise the age of retirement to 70 to even things out." - Tony Blair, this week.

"We have no problem in giving you these marbles, Lord Elgin, since you have enough cash to give us for them." - Greek authorities, in the early 19th Century.

"Ohg, we have independence? Errm, we need some jumped-up nationalistic crap to rally people with. So...WE WANT THE ELGIN MARBLES BACK!!!" - Greece, 20 years later.

"We said we want them back!!!" - Greece, not shutting up about it to this day. Not aware they sound like the BNP over this issue, of course.

"I did it because I could." - Bill Clinton, justifying Zippergate.

"I did it because I could." - The best excuse Dubyuh could ever give for the Fifth Crusade. After all, he could send armies to the local Kwik-E-Mart for a regeime change if he said it on C-Span...

"I am here to make an announcement that this Thursday, ticket counters and airplanes will fly out of Ronald Reagan Airport."

"You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test.''

"I know what I believe. I will continue to articulate what I believe and what I believe — I believe what I believe is right."

"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

"I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully."

and my two favs...

"They misunderestimated me."

"If you get caught with a video camera in our theatres, we will give you a huge fine, and you may face a possible ten year prison sentence." - Yet another reason I'm boycotting the new Harry Potter flick. TEN YEARS FOR VIDEO PIRACY?!?

"I won't be travelling to Athens for the Olympics, in case terrorists blow me up." - Serena Williams. What she should've said is that Daddy Williams said that it's her brother, Venus', turn for an Olympic gold. Check the history of the Grand Slams and you'll see what I mean...

"We're banning Farenheit 9/11 from all our theatres, because we don't like it." - RL Fridley Theatres, showing that the First Ammendment hasn't reached Iowa and Nebraska yet.

"WMD may never be found in Iraq." - Tony Blair, stating the obvious, not realising nobody cares about that any more, since we know there aren't any there. Dude, we wised up months ago, why haven't you?

"Because of the possibility of terrorists putting a bomb in there, we will not have bins at our airports." - The British Aviation Authority's long-held plan to avoid bombs.

"To avoid polluting the planet, we will be installing recycling bins at our airports for glass, plastic and paper." - The British Aviation Authority, doing their bit for the environment. Let's just hope terrorists aren't ecologically conscious...oh, wait, they still won't bother with a small fry target like Britain, would they?

"Iraq could launch Weapons of Mass Destruction in 45 minutes? Who are you trying to kid?" - The basics of the Butler Report. No, Lord Butler, you're wrong - it was made in good faith, Tony Blair is great and would never lie to anyone, and we must trust him so he can get re-elected. Listen to Lord Hutton, seriously...

"The intelligence used to justify the war with Iraq was misleading, the September Dossier was flawed beyond belief...but nobody is to blame, especially Tony Blair and John Scarlett." - The full gist of The Butler Report.

"My one wish is to use a rocket launcher on all Mosques in Bradford." - A BNP member, caught on hidden camera.

"Islam is a wicked faith." - BNP leader Nick Griffin, as above.

"It was selectivly edited." - BNP leader Nick Griffin, trying too hard.

"I'm suing you for Libel, after how you made me look in Bowling For Columbine." - James Nicolls, trying to sue Michael Moore. All it shows is just how big Moor ehas become, if the lawsuits crawl out from the woodwork...

Bush's speeches for traditional family values, when his own family has a set of values radically different from any family in the world.

"Not giving a straight answer for two hours." - Tony Blair, in the Commons, defending himself against accusations that he's a LYING, MURDERING SHIT, in the wake of The Butler Report. The body languege of those sat behind him, however, told a different story...

"Don't go back there, as it's being marketed for sex tourists." - Dubyuh, either trying to appeal to the Cuban-American vote in his usual charming manner, or score points off Castro by keeping his people from returning home. Either way, it hardly works, let alone looks good...

"The more Indians we kill today, the less we have to kill in the next war. The more I see it, the more I am convinced they will all have to be killed, or be maintained as a species of poor. We must act with vindictive earnestness against the Sioux and the Cheyenne, to the point of their very extinction - men, women, and children." - General Sherman.

This would be the stupidist thing ever to say to the media about proof:

"A proof is a proof, and it's a good proof, and when you have a good proof, it's because it is proven."

Too bad it's already been said by former Canadian Prime Minister Jean Cretien, who will be remembered forever for being unable to properly speak either official language.

At 6/8/04 09:45 AM, D2KVirus wrote: "Do not panic, otherwise the terrorists will have won." - Government rhetoric on "threats" of a dirty bomb on the British public.

"Right, we'll have to increase security even more, just in case such an event happens again." - Government rhetoric after tony Blair is hit with a condom full of purple flour.

"We're sorry, but we are not prepared to fund the works for a new sewage system in London, even if it does put an end to this Cholera epidemic that is killing the poor in the East End in their thousands." - British Parliament, 1848-58.

"There may not be any Cholera epidemic, but the amount of shit in the Thames is making the House unbearable to be in, as the stench is intolerable. Here's £3m, build the sewers." - British Parliament, 1858.

Some things never change, huh?
