Hey Burnzoid, I was in sort of a similar situation with that as well. I remember when I first starting dating my girlfriend, we both agreed that we weren't going to have sex unless we had both condoms and birth contol... plus her dad was totally against us having sex, and I didn't feel like going against his word.
Then 4 months passed, I had condoms in my drawer, and we decided to go against our own words. We've made oh-so passionate love quite a few times now with only the condom, and I haven't had any troubles whatsoever (using Trojan with lube, btw). However, now she's on the pill, and we're going to just try sex without a condom soon, possibly tomorrow.
But emm... back to you, you'll have to be understanding that your girlfriend wants to prevent any possibilities for pregnancy. I mean, really, condoms aren't much of an annoyance, so be glad that she wants sex anyway.

I see no problem here. I think that being cautious is a good thing when dealing with sexual relationships, especially when pregnancies are undesired and STIs are being passed around more and more.
