The following is a really, really elaborate story that took place about, 4 hours ago.
Mother Nature has been acting rather, impatient these past few days. The weather (wo)man has been predicting stormy weather this week, but it's been nothing be blazing sunlight, and muggy heat.
I was riding my bike home from the corner store, when i noticed a line of dark and ominous clouds approaching from the west. I though to myself "What are you up to bitch?"
I continued to ride down Main St. keeping an eye on the approaching line of clouds. every so often i'd see a little flicker of light within the darkened mass. Mother Nature was feeling rather, excited. So was i.
I cut through the parking lot of the local grocery store, and i got a glimpse of just how monsterous this cloud formation was. It was a cold front, ten maybe fifteen miles long. Following behind it was a chaotic mass of swirling dark clouds. Things were about to get intense, so i headed for the public pool, and sheltered under the wooden pavilion. It would have to do, no way i'm getting home dry now, Mother Nature was teasing me, and herself.
I opened my cherry coke, and watched as the thick line of dark flashing clouds pass overhead. it was the most amazing thing i had ever seen. Following the front line, the swirling mass began to take shape, and the rumbles of thunder began. She was getting into the mood, as the winds picked up, and playfully tossed papers and trash across the open field. A single bolt of lightning off in the distance, told me the time for talk is over. The clouds darkened, the wind moaned, and the thunder rocked the ground. No stopping her now.
I kept track of where the lightning was coming from, and where is was going. Listening to the thunder, i counted, and she was getting closer. Much closer. The pavilion i was sheltered in offered a nice panoramic view of her furious storm. I was getting excited too. The lightning drew closer, and the flashes of light blew up all around. I started teasing her, shouting "Yeah, you like that don't ya!?" *BOOM* "OOoh yeah! C'mon bitch! Let's see what you got!"
The wind intensified, gasping, moaning, and throwing shit all over the place. The lightning strikes were all around, thunder rocked the very ground i stood on. The fast moving clouds grinded against each other, it was mayhem. When suddenly, the sky split slightly, and a single ray of light shined through.
The winds died down, and the flashes of light disappeared, and the clouds turned a light gray.
It started to rain.
