Megaman-megaman X Time Connection?

Ok listen...Where do the game series Megaman and Megaman X...Connect? I think Like somewhere at the end of Megaman 8 Dr.Willy built Zero or something...I dunno. Whats the connection between Megaman and Megaman X? Also what happened to Roll? And what happened to Bass?And what happened to ProtoMan? And what happened to Dr.Willy? Did Zero kill him or something?

Apparently there was some cataclysm that took place and killed some of the characters. Proto Man lived beyond that and appears in the X series as Prometheus (I think that's how you spell it not sure) Mega Man's fate is that he gets kidnappd by Dr. Wily in the future, was reprogrammed, and sent to destroy his past self so we know his fate. X was activated by Dr. Cain while yes Zero killed his own master Dr. Wily.

bass steals blueprints to X

dr.willy creates bad rip off named zero

dr.light records hallow messages for X

zero destroys the world

zero is somehow put back to sleep

zero and X wake up millions of years or something in the future

zero and X fight a bad guy named sigma

sigma kills zero and rebuilds him as a less shitty robot

zero betrays sigma

X and zero become allies

well, i'm not sure but i think that roll, proto man, bass, mega man and all the robot masters were killed by zero, because in mega man: the power fighters is shown.
then, dr light decide to create a new kind of robot that can think by himself, and put in sleep about 30 years.
While x is in the capsule, wily put zero in a capsule, and then, light, wily and cossak died by old age.
lastly, zero woke up and went berserk, then sigma was send to stop him, but when he hits the crystal in zero's helmet, he catches the "wily virus".
after that fight, zero joins to the maverick hunters and dr cain finds the dr light's laboratory, wakes up x, and finds the blueprints of x and starts to develop the reploids

Dr. Light builds Megaman

Dr. Wily builds hundreds upon hundreds of shitty robots, and then builds Gutsman, Zero, Protoman, and Bass

Megaman 1-8 go by. Everyone dies but Zero, Megaman, Wily, and Dr. Light, and Protoman and Bass go somewhere else to fuck with people.

Light builds a NEW HD GRAFIX Megaman, but puts him to sleep for about 20-30 years so diagnostics on his... ability to er, turn evil can be finished. I guess if he was evil, his tube/bed thing would've exploded or something.

Light dies, the original megaman fucks off, and 20-30 years pass.

Megaman X and Zero go and do their stuff for about 500 years.

About as accurate as I remember it from the games.
