Obama is projected to win Pennsylvania. Obama's leading in Florida 54% to McCain's 46%, with 23% of the state reporting.
Since Obama's won PA, it looks like he'll win the election. It looks like he'll win all of Kerry's states, plus New Mexico and Colorado, and that's enough to get him over 270.

People who say things such as that obviously don't understand the process at all. At the very basics, the Electoral College is elected by the people, making your vote matter.
The only time a vote wouldn't matter is if you were the only person to vote for Candidate A in the entire precinct.
I voted for McCain and he won my State.
The speech from Obama is inspring at best.
I also noticed when you check the comparisons from the subscriptions from their channels, for example, Barack Obama channel.
Comparing to McCain's channel and his speech,
Everything I see is just a image of my thoughts "Always looking for a better day..."

Actually, in government class in high school, I learned that members of the electoral college are NOT obligated to vote according to the state's voters. That being said, nobody would have the balls to go against their state's wishes (hopefully).
Anyway, as I turned 18 this year, I voted for the first time. Truthfully, I didn't really like either candidate. However, I do not approve of the way our country was run for the last 8 years. Therefore, I voted for Obama. Ehhh, it's not the best first vote memory.
.
I knew you were going to make a thread like this, Ted... Obama's got meh vote.

Wow, Obama is absolutely wiping the floor with McCain so far. He's got like a 100 point lead.

Some states also have penalties for faithless electors.

McCain still has a chance, but it certainly does appear Obama is gonna win. While I can't speak for New Mexico, being from Colorado I'm fairly certain he'll win here.
Is anyone else watching CNN? I find it interesting how they're talking about the effect of an Obama presidency on "race relations." Personally I think that "race relations" is just an imaginary distinction that has no real effect on anyone but racists, who certainly won't be swayed one way or another by an Obama presidency. I've heard some people say though that having Obama become president would spark an outpouring of anti-black crime. Am I the only one who thinks that the effect of race on everything has been severely overestimated?

Nope. I also don't care about which races and ethnicities voted for who and what effect that'll have on "race relations" or anything else of that nature. I thought we were all just supposed to be people.
Regardless of all that, though, there's a much more pressing matter at hand...CNN has a fucking hologram.
FURTHER NEWS:
Obama wins New Mexico.

Definitely. Obama's race probably had a role in his huge support for the first couple of months of his candidacy, but that quickly faded away. I'm sure all of the whites and Latinos and Asians who are voting for Obama don't care about his race, and a lot of blacks (including myself) only see his race as a bonus; his policies are what makes his supporters want to vote for him.
CNN has just called Ohio for Obama as well. I'm not sure that McCain can plausibly win any more.

He has 200 electoral votes (counting Ohio and New Mexico). California, Washington, and Oregon will definitely vote for him, making him have 273 Electoral Votes.
Well, this has turned into the absolute slaughter I predicted it would be.
I'm waiting for the Florida return. If it goes obama, i'm going to consider that victory.

Never trust the Florida return until all votes are counted.
Better yet, until three days after all votes are counted. Florida is funny that way.

bleh, sadly true. x_x
im fine with barrack winning but i would love JMAC (John Mccain) to win my only problem with obama is at first his tax cuts were for people who make 25,000 then it was 20,000 then 17,000 now its 12,000 whats next!
Here's a question to everyone: what network(s) coverage of the election are you watching?
This is the one time of the year when I like to watch Fox. It's fun to watch them squirm and try to support McCain against all odds.

Obama has remained consistent with saying that the tax cuts were for people who make less than $250,000 yearly. The average American income is about $48,000 yearly.
Since it's pretty obvious Obama will win, I will now begin to blame him for all of my problems regardless of how little he had to do with them. Yay!

yes indeed. I bet that 85% winning statistic they spit out earlier is biting them in the ass now eh?!
I guess putting your fingers in your ears and going "LALALALALALA" won't solve your problem forever!

Yeah Obama has 200 votes at the moment. Seeing as California and Oregon are pretty much in the bag, he can count on getting 60 more. If he wins anything else he's basically won.

IT'S OVER.
Period.
Look, with 200 votes, Obama's won it. California alone gives 55, Hawaii 4, Washington and Oregon 18. That's 272 votes. Not including other swing states.

I'm not. I just click Google News every once in awhile and take a look at the AP map.
The headlines stay ahead of the map display. I rather wish the media wouldn't predict.
Looks like America is really fucking this one up
