Okay, though...I haven't researched this at all, and I don't know if the USPS is really doing this, I received a very hate-filled email today from one of my close friends.
Please note that these are NOT my words, but the email I received.
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of PanAm Flight 103!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the Marine barracks in Lebanon!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the military barracks in Saudi Arabia!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the American Embassies in Africa!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the USS COLE!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM attack on the Twin Towers on 9/11/2001!
REMEMBER all the AMERICAN lives that were lost in those vicious MUSLIM attacks!
Now the United States Postal Service REMEMBERS and HONORS the EID MUSLIM holiday season with a commemorative first class holiday postage stamp!!!
REMEMBER to adamantly and vocally BOYCOTT this stamp when purchasing your stamps at the post office. To use this stamp would be a slap in the face to all those AMERICANS who died at the hands of those whom this stamp honors.
REMEMBER to pass this along to every patriotic AMERICAN you know!!
This nauseated me. Seriously. I know that, logically, there's people out there who still hold the 'all or nothing' attitude when it comes to people's race, creed, religion, blah blah blah. That there are folks who still think all black people are criminals, all gays are AIDS ridden, and all Muslims are terrorists. But this sooooo drove it home, and it made me sad.
To any of our Muslim friends out there, I'm sorry something like this is being spread about you and your religion. Ignorance should be painful.

It is true. But let us remember that this country is founded on acceptance of everyone, even those of the same religion as Osama. Muslims are not all out to kill Americans. Boycotting this stamp will prove nothing but the fact that you hate people and things that you don't understand...people you don't take the time to understand.
I say use the stamp and prove that America (and, yes, Bush) is not on a crusade. We are after those men (and women) who feel that the American way of life is shameful. Celebrate diversity of religion (it's what brought us all here in the first place).

I can tell you for SURE that that is not the work of the United States Postal Service, it was probably created by some hick who thought taht adding that part about the USPS would make people take him seriously.

Okay, so instead of just telling us for SURE...then how about a link or something? Or whatever you're using for info?
I'd love to send an email back saying, 'Hey, bitch. Thanks for the hateful mail.'

REMEMBER the AMERICANS leaving the MUSLIMS in Iraq in chaos while occasionally shooting innocent people and police officers chasing down looters
REMEMBER the AMERICAN bombing of inoccent MUSLIMS in Iraq
REMEMBER the AMERICANS giving MUSLIMS weapons and training them how to fight against communists and then when the war against communism was over leaving the MUSLIMS to get their asses kicked around.
I dont blame them one bit.
PS those events are in reverse chronological order

Yes, I have to agree with you. There was plenty of pent up anger over nearly a hundred years of persecution, Western and European interferance, and such. But does that justify the actions of the extremists on either side?
To change what I said before, celebrate diversity, but don't embrace it totally, and fully.

There is no way that the USPS could make stamps like that, a myriad of Muslim organizations would sue the hell out of them.

Man, people are lame. Dividing people along lines of religion, "race"* or nationality is just stupid.
*I do believe that "race" does not exist. Race implies something that is definable, however race is clearly a spectrum. Compare a french man to a spanish man, little difference and it is the same for the rest of the world. "Race" only becomes an idea when you compare opposite ends of the spectrum, where you miss out all the parts in between and thus fail to realise that race is undefinable.

Actually race is definable. There are 4 races.
African
European (including russians)
Asian/Native American (including south america)
Native Australian
and some people are a mix of two or more of these. Like Im a mix of African, European, and Asian/Native American

You assume that the people in those groups are homogenus, where do european people end and asian people start? By the political borders? What is an Albanian, for example?
Is there really that much difference between an Egyptian and a Saudi Arabian? How about Filipinos and natve Austrailians?
