Accordung to the sensationalist media, this society is 'broken', a dystopian place where people are scared shit of going out and Britains kids are goiong off the rails.

The words of many misinformed people that live on a staple diet of the Daily Mail and the Sun. Look, why is it that a white middle class people living in areas that aren't affected this are absolutely scared? Are teens killing adults regualrly? No! Then these people should get a grip of reality and continue with their lives. Most gun crime are done by blacks on blacks in concentrated areas of cities. No need to get scared, no need to scream and shout and panic at the sight of a black man or a teenager.

MInd you, I capitalised on this issue by pulling my hood up in the night and made a man cross the road. Haha, pussy! I should have said "Brrap" and scared the shit out of him.

Anyway, relatively speaking, London is safe in general (and the same may be true in other countries) but still people live with crime in cities like Bogota, Washington D.C. and other cities with higher crime than British cities and don't freak out.

The majority of newspapers are boring. Papers like the Daily Mail, Express and Telegraph hate the Labour party so you can guarantee that they'll try to dig up something bad on them, usually involving immigrants. Although to be fair, it's only the Mail that's the really racist one. Practically every day its headline has something to do with immigrants. It's pretty comical.

I don't think complaining about people who watch Big Brother, read The Sun, constantly complain about single mothers that feed babies chips all day and generally complain about 3rd class people is going to get you anywhere. Times and society will change for the better in time, but 'till then just be glad you're not one of them.

Since chavs have been brought up, has anyone else noticed the chav/emo hybrids that have shown up within the last 6 months? 3 years ago if you had long hair and walk past a chav you'd get abuse along the lines of "cut ur 'air ya cunt", now they've all got fucking sweeping fringes and mullets!

I'm not to bothered by chavs anymore, anytime I have an encounter with one I usually end up befriending them, havn't been started on in a good 2 years touch wood. Sadly, it's immigrants I'm worried about now, there was a bomb scare at the mall in Plymouth not so long ago, and I read that the pakis who convinced the guy to blow up the mall are the same pakis I used to walk past almost every day to get to town from school. They didn't actually seem to do anything apart from stand around on the same street corner every day. Meh, devil makes work for idle thumbs.

Theres a very simple solution to all you problems, just stay away from the bad parts of town and live in the good parts only! Every place in the world had a good and bad areas to it, even manchester!
Heck you only live for a short amount of time anyway and theirs no point wasting it tucked away in some council estate fearing chav's for your own safety, just move and yet them die out like most areas are!
Heck it worked for birmingham, and thats practically where the chav problem began!

chavs are like zombies, if they dont have people to pray on, pretty soon they'll just die out and move on!

I don't feel safe I guess. Maybe it's because most people I know have been victims of violent crime. I have sat in on courts and also seen the police in action in my old work.

I actually left my old job, because people would come in, assault us and the police would let them go.

Whenever I hear the word dystopian I just compare it Orwells 1984, and feel better. And besides we don't live in a dystopia any more now than ever. Life is suposed to be hard.
