Hey, I am making a website, and was thinking that it would be cool to have a page that would show up if you haven't been to the site yet, sort of like a greeting. More specifically, it would only show up if you ip hasn't been to that site before. Does anyone have any thoughts/ or know how to do this? Thanks.

THat would be the easiest way. Trying to store and then check the IP of every visitor you get wouldnt work too good. As IP addresses change. And can be used by more then one person at one time (ie. gatways) Where as if you put a cookie on their machine which your site can try and detect. Then you have an easier and simpler solution.
