Ohh, yeah I see what you mean.

Obviously it's all a power-play. Those of us on Newgrounds use it as escape from our daily lives, and we tend to find people on here more to our liking than a lot of the people we know in reality. The point in that being that we feel the same basic need to "fit into our cliques" and whatnot. I would actually consider a lot of famous posters to be either those who are great at flash, and therefore thrive the most on Newgrounds, or those people (me being one of them) who have absolutely no actual contribution to give to Newgrounds-therefore the BBS is our last safehouse.

The regulars because they're regular and that means they are regularly noticed on a regular basis by people that are both regular and non regular!

popular users are either great flash artists or stat whores . No one knows who I am or will remember me all too much here , just the way I like it :) when you break it down , basically anyone can be popular around here just start whoring out those stats

popular users are usually the ones that draw the most attention to themselves, rather than being legitimately awesome users.

There's the rare exception, but that's generally how shit flies.

I always have a soft spot in my heart for WillaWowza, JackPhantasm, and BlueHippo because they tend to make posts that seem thought out. When they aren't thought out then it's all at least funny to read. You can't really say that for most Newgrounders.
