OK, anybody know how exactly THERMONukes work? ( i kno that it works when you put 20 mil heat to combine two atoms, but why do they need the uranium warhead?)
Also how fission bombs work..( i am not sure if u fire the proton at the uranium warhead... )

Now to the topic: If people say that the US should disarm, shouldn't the rest of the world at the same time? Just how would this be accomplished?

In my opinion i dont think its possible now. The US is the only world major power in my books they could dictate what smaller countries can and cannot do. If they dissarmed then the world would become chaotic, smaller nations such as India and South Korea who are now making Nuclear Warheads, would threaten the safety of the world with their ( stop me if im wrong ) communist views. Just as the major powers dissarm America Britain Russia and so on these nations "could" threaten our nations with nuclear war.

I think that owning these nuclear weapons is more of a deterant than an actual weapon, but if we got rid of them then maybe "we" wouldnt be super powers anymore.

I disagree, If a country has stock piles of mouse traps it doesn't mean they have less mice. A weapon is built to be used.

As much as I like the idea, I don't think it is possable to get rid of nukes world wide. Somebody will always have a bigger gun than you.

ok, this is a correction. first of all, South Korea and India isnt EVIL and is not communist. they are democratic republicans as we are. if SK was communist, how do u think all the samsung and the cars come out from and y would us attack iraq. OK NOW, THIS IS THE ANSWER Y WE DONT DISARM OR ANY OTHER COUNTRIES: first of all, u need to think this in bigger, grander way. even if US disarms and force other contries, they will not because first u need to kno y n how nukes are present. nuclear bomb, was first built by US by the suggestion of Albert Einstein that the Germans r building them too. they didnt wanted to fall behind in technology. if the germans had this "NUKE" america need a counter attack. so for the sake of US defense, they started the Manhattan Project. ALL the scients, physists, weapon experts from all over the world came togetther and devloped the bomb. like how it was started, nukes were built for SELF DEFENSE. now, US had rose to world power and have nukes for defense and oppresion to other countries in counter measures. Now, all these communist, economicaly challenged countries, and other small countries build nukes for the same purpose as US did; to defend themselves against world's superpower as Russia and US. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ALL THE COUNTRIES TO DISARM SINCE THEY FEEL UNSAFE FROM OTHER COUNTRIES. all comments, corrections, and negative counters are welcomed :)

I'm sorry about my misrepresented grammar. I just didn't think that people who would use such barbaric weaponry as nukes would understand such complex syntax.

Yes, the rest of the world should disarm. This will not be accomplished, however, until U.S. and other powerful countries stop pushing around smaller third world countries.

Actually the reason for war is that people disagree on certain things, and are unable to fix the things that are wrong, and talk it over peacefully. Sometimes, war is needed.

Yeah, but I dont believe any other country who is a threat would not be able to use nuclear weapons(countrys other than US) because we usually get the information when someone is even testing them, and I believe we have soldiers in a lot of threatening places, even if we arent at war with them yet. (North Korea?)
