Most current generation first person shooters have you taking the role of a faceless cool helmet wearing soldier or a grizzled balding marine.

All western rpgs give you the impression of choosing your own morality when in reality it is just pure good ending and pure evil ending. Usually takes place in medieval england with tolkien monsters.

All japanese rpgs have you playing a male feminine teenager on a set storyline where you get caught up in a struggle and with the aid of a gang of weirdos you meet along your adventure you defeat the evil villain and save the entire world from his God like powers.

Ok your turn.

Have fun, I took all the easy ones

Guitars have one string with five frets, and you can still play insane solos and licks with ease.

If you and your squad is faced with an obstacle that needs to be passed, be certain that it's up to you to take care of it.

It takes forever to punch an enemy to death, but you can smash a wooden crate into tiny fragments with just one blow.

Games where the enemies charge at you with knives and pitchforks but when you kill them you pickup a bunch of shotgun shells.

Females in Anime-based are given roles that don't require strenght, like archers and healers, they tend to act Kawaii-stupid or tomboy-ish and cry often....

RPG's: You're the saviour of the entire world and you're extremely powerful yet a person on the street will give you a quest making you look for their dog.

FPS's: Red barrels always explode, and enemies somehow still take cover behind or near them.

Survival/horror : A highly trained para-military squad of elite ex-criminal and ex-soldiers working for an all-powerful corporation will be killed yet a student,a doctor and a security guard will survive *cough* Resident evil *cough*

It turns out that in war, health kits, which you know perfectly how to use, are just lying around everywhere, and there's a good chance that all you need to do to make that bullet wound in your neck feel better is to just hide behind cover until that weird red glow around your eyes goes away.

Swords make you look cool. Big swords make you look cooler. Swords that are as big as you gets you all the pussy.

As the main character in this FPS, you're expected to carry about 10 different guns with you through the entire game, and switch between them at a moments notice. Speaking of which, just how big are those pockets now?

World War 2 games (End)

RPG's have the best music.

Female beat-em-up characters being ridiculously quick but pathetically weak.
Male beat-em-up characters being the exact opposite.

In strategy games, when there's a transport unit it's quite durable, but it has no offensive capabilities at all.

-Medical kits heal your wounds instantly after being picked up, and without having to stop what you are doing for ten minutes to actually bandage yourself up.

-Sports games are all the exact same, save for the digit on the cover.

-Boxes shatter as if they are held together with toothpicks and dental floss.

-Anyone classified as the main PROtagonist can take 10 times more punishment before dying than your basic grunt.

-Anyone classified as the main ANtagonist can take 10 times more punishment before dying than your main PROtagonist.

...also, TL;DR.

If you have an old friend in a game, he will die...

You are always sent to find a switch/lever to open a door/bridge/whatever, which turns out to be the most brutalising "safe" trip ever.

in just about every game every enemy solder (exept the very high ranking ones) lack basic training. seriously those enemy solders need to learn to use a gun.
also in fps games the main charecter does not feel pain but there life is slowly diminished anyway.
and FIRE AXES EVERYWHERE.

If it's a platformer, then you bet your ass there'll be a lava level and an ice level. Though Super Mario Galaxy threw us a major curveball by combining both into one level. Oooooooh.

Ammo is weightless and turns invisible when you aren't currently using it. No matter how much the enemy has fired at you, they will still give you the same amount of ammo when you walk over their weapon. You can pick up their bullets, but rarely do you decide to pick up their grenades. Turrets are the only weapons that can never run out of ammo, yet always have none around them. You can blow this door open, but this one, that is the exact same door, you cannot because it is locked, hence the red light. Explosives can destroy walls, but floors are indestructable. We don't want you to go that way, so you'll just die if you keep going. Also, despite all the noise and commotion one makes, people in the next room or area are always off guard. Even though you had all those weapons in the previous level, I guess you decided to swap them out for a pistol in the elevator/cutscene/ w/e.

I'm done.
