There would be no way to take away all the nukes. People can still secretly make them, so throwing away the nukes is a bad idea. Think of the power one country can have if they have the only nukes, you can't exactly fight them back. People aren't going to nuke eachother to begin with, since when one is launched, the target will launch one back, or even some of the target's allies.

The UKs nuclear policy is only attack once attacked. The trident missile syste can wipe out any countries major and minor urban centres, and is anywhere in the world at once. This is called a "Nuclear Deterent", and is employed by most companies. The US and Russia remain the worlds most aggressive nuclear countries - and if war breaks out then it will probably be started by either one of those [sorry to everyone in the US, youre nuclear policy is just as bad as theirs]

That's why the world isn't in a nuclear winter yet. If one nation attacks with nukes, it's guarenteed that they will also be obliterated in retaliation. If a superpower throws away their nukes, their allies can still retaliate for them.

Do you really think one of them is going to put down their gun first?
It just depends on who can keep their arm steady the longest. Is that the message you were getting at?
Oh. Your. God.

"IF", to bad the USA won't. In fact, the USA is looking to build new improved nuclear weapons at a time when other countries are being pushed to abandon any nuclear ambitions, whether it be for power or for military. It's going to be a few generations before nuclear weapons are obsolete, but by then they will have better (more destructive) weapons to use.
Injured Workers rights were taken away in the 1920's by an insurance company (WCB), it's high time we got them back.
