Some asshole is bound to come in and say 'LoLz NoOBIsh ThrEAd' but i believe there must be other life as all the sightings must add up to something. Also how can earth be the only life in the universe when there are countless millions of planets in the universe.

let me put it like this.. if stars are galaxy away, does that mean each star is home to another world since we are in our own galaxy..

or maybe look at a brick wall, focus on one brick .. thats our solar system, now look at the brick beside it, then the brick beside that ..

maybe the reason we don't know if there truly is life on other planets is because we are not able to look beyond our own world.. and if we are then maybe someone wants to keep it a secret

Life on other planets = Probably

Life on other planets close enough to Earth for us to find them, see them, and eventually talk to them... very unlikely.

Our only real hope for communication with other planets is mastering a way to travel across large distances in space in a single moment. But since Time is relative it probably won't happen. By the time you got to your friends house, your friend would be dead. 2 seconds to you, was a thousand years to him.

At least, that's how I've always understood it. Could be wrong...

I´m pretty sure that there are other life forms in the vast space of the universe. Not in our Galaxy, but somewhere for sure.

Somewhere, beyond the sea...

Exactly my point! I don't think anyone can argue with that. And if they did it wouldn't be a very good debate.

I always found it intirguing that light speed is the (supposedly) top speed. I mean, I can imagine something not moving at all, but something being held back, like "you can't go beyond this speed", is something that has always fascinated me. Maybe if there existed another Einstein, he would find some extra information about it that the original one didn't...

Or maybe if there was a way to fumble around with Time itself, you would get to go faster than light speed. Well, not really faster than light speed, but more like a hack.

In theory they exist, we can't be alone, the universe is too big for us alone, as a matter of fact we can't say nothing sure, there is nothing proving or disaproving life on other planets(real scientifical approved facts). Anyway I believe life on other planets exist, just that they aren't close to us and it is gonna be a while till we contact with them.

The really interesting thing is why we think that aliens are smarter than us and that they will contact us first. At list they surely are not like hollywood shows them.

Yeah. Terrans might be the ones to find other civilizations instead. One day a spaceship will arrive to some distant planet, and if said civilization is considerably less advanced, the whole new world thing may repeat itself.

I know someone will say that getting to other planets will always be impossible, because light speed is top max speed. That is true, until some really fucked up scientist finds a way to cheat at it. Geez, in 1890 all scientists said the airplane was 100% impossible idea...

Well you have to look at the figures.
On every one out of 1,200 planets has the resources to produce bacteria.
On every one out of 120,000 are there water and the other resouces to survive, and those planets could not be able to produce bacteria.
There are over 3,000,000,000,000,000,000 different types of bacteria, only 13 trillion can turn into an organism. Only 13 billion can turn into a breathing, walking/ swimming organism.
We have over 13 billion species on this planet.
Out of them only one is intelligent.
The chances look pretty slim to me.

Except for one thing: The number of planets is virtually infinite.
