I'm trying to think of rare PS2 games... why? Do I need a reason for everything?

Here's what I came up with.
Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (I had a copy but I sold it... stupid stupid me)
Ico
The Shin Megami Tensei Series of Games
The Dot Hack series of games
Fatal Frame Series
The original version of San Andreas (before Hot Coffee)

Those are the main ones I thought of... if you have anymore add to the list.

Dragon Rage
Army Men: Green Rouge
Army Men: Air Attack 2

Those are the only ones I have that could be considered even remotely rare. Dragon Rage, however, is a piece of shit. The weird thing is, I've got Air Attack 2 on the PS2, but Wikipedia only lists it as being on the Gamecube.

Ico

yeah, it seems to be impossible for me to get ahold of a copy. then again, try ebay.

The original version of San Andreas (before Hot Coffee).

erm, i strongly disagree. I have 7 copies, lol. wierd story...

erm, most of the rare playstation 2 games are japanese so I wouldn't really know of any,
my best shot at mentioning a rareish game, would be Metal Gear Solid 2: Substence?

...although I have a copy.

Got it.

Also, is Ico worth £12 used? I've heard good things about it, and it's one of them games I've never gotten around to buying?

Got it, but its basically the same game, just a bit easier.

I always found the second Zone of The Enders hard to find, I feel lucky to have found it.

IMHO Shadow of the Collosus is much better and far more epic, with amazing boss battles throughout accompanied by a brilliant and moving soundtrack. ICO is a great game but I would strongly recommend SoTC over it, unless you already have it.

I bought San Andreas the day it came out, so my copy is still able to use the Hot Coffee mod.

I dunno, I think all of those are easily available if you really want them. I think I've seen every Mega Ten game currently sitting on the used shelves of my local Gamestop. You have to go even more obscure for a last-gan console. I remember seeing this bizzarre remake of an old arcade game for the PS2 a while back. Every time me and my friends saw it we'd joke about buying it because it was a mash-up of horrible early 3D graphics and live action actors, plus it came with 3-D glasses. I've been trying to find out more about it ever since Gamestop stopped carrying it and I've yet to have any luck.

A few years ago, I'd go to game and see literally twenty or so Icos in the preowned bin for about £7 each.

Zone of the Enders 2. Only ever seen it once, bought it, then later STUPIDLY traded it in like an idiot.

Nothing is even really remotely "rare" on PS2...

Most of these "rare" games you talk about are merely sought after by geeks. Not rare. Especially MvC2. Ugh $100+ for a shit used copy. Just because Capcom doesn't have the Marvel Licence anymore the price is driven up by fanatics. Its really not that rare at all. Don't believe me? Ebay it? Would a rare game constantly have numerous copies for sale?

The "Rarest" PS2 game I can think of is probably the "Limited Edition" version of Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence. The game is widely available but the limited red box version with the Movie disk fetches around $250+ with the release of MGS4...

I'm a INDIAN !
