Ordinarily, I'd post this in the news section, but it's a little late in the day for that.
There'll be a little down time tomorrow morning around 9am EDT, where the site isn't working. We're going to make a few database changes that can only be done effectively when no-one is using the site.
So, that's the warning over and done with. Sorry for the short notice.
It'll be better if things run more smoothly as a result of the changes, though, right?

Very! Lord knows this site takes up a good chunk of my bandwidth, and many times I can't get to other sites as fast when I'm on here.
...unless the database update won't fix that. In any case, anything to make NG run smoother is A-OK by me.

Alright, first thing's first. Make sure you have the latest copy of the flash plugin:
On that page, it should show you some animation once you've installed the latest plugin. If you've failed along the line somewhere, it should tell you (the page, through a prompt).
The other thing to check is whether or not you have javascript enabled.
Other than that, I'm out of ideas.

Neither or... Just one of those things that's crept up and could do with addressing now, rather than later.
This is probably not the place but why does the search engine suck so much? I can never find the thread I want to. And what's with not being able to search for terms under 4 characters long? What if you wanted to search for "DVD"?

Yeah, search engine will only do things over 4 characters AND it does not search for more than one term at once...

Yeah, I know - and it's not something that we're all intentionally keeping from you guys, I would like the bbs searching stuff up to scratch - there are just bigger fish to fry at the moment (that's a proverb, not something we're doing literally!).
