so i just logged on today to see that my whistle level that used to be at normal had gone down to 'garbage'! i don't flag things very often and when i do i have good reason. i've had reviews of mine marked 'abusive' and when i flag reviews worse than any i've ever written they must not be removed at all because i see a fucking garbage whistle! so fuck the whistle system and everyone who makes the end desicion and what reviews/movies stay and go.

I took a look at your reviews. Here's a particularly bad one:

If most of your reviews are like that, then no wonder they're being deleted.

Let me give you a few tips on review-writing:
1.) Make it at least 4 lines long.
2.) Avoid shorthand whenever possible. Use complete words and sentences.
3.) If the submission is good, try and mention everything you enjoyed about it.
4.) If the submission is bad, give suggestions on how to improve upon it, instead of bashing the author.
5.) If the submission is clearly spam or looking for negative responses (like fake porn and screamers), DO NOT LEAVE A REVIEW. It isn't worth your time. Just vote 0 and leave.

Since then I don't bother keeping it above garbage.

I flagged lots of stuff and they got what they deserved, but I'm still at normal. So, what do the whistle levels do? Is it good?

A review mod told me that the system works like this:

There is about a 10 to 1 ratio between a good and bad flagging. This means that flagging 2 things that didn't deserve to be flagged will undermine a whole day's worth of flagging things that are abusive.

I know how you feel. I went straight down to a garbage whistle after flagging 3 pages full of 8,000 character advertisements that someone posted as reviews.

It doesn't affect voting. It just affects how much power you have when you flag someone's flash or review. It also is known to make your e-penis grow 2 inches.

I'm happy when i see people with garbage whistles but i cry when i see many deity whistles. The fact that more people are getting garbage means that the mods are more leniant on what can stay for reviews. Personally i think no reviews should be taken off unless they are spam. It's not that i feel compassion for the jerks but it's just that people (the mods) often can't see the line that seperates the reviews that are "too harsh" and "just right." I remember the time of whenever i rated a flash lower than 9 (even if it's an 8!) it would be deleted. I remember one time the creator of a flash even said it was bullshit that my review of his flash was deleted.

Yea normally i wouldn't care if my review is deleted, but when every slightly negative review i write is deleted, then it's pointless to review. Btw these slightly negative reviews are like "nice drawings but please add sounds." I'm glad the whistle system has changed and more people are getting garbage (which is what they deserve) instead of deity. I laugh at you people who whistle reviews.

Any time you find a review that is clearly abusive, take a link from where you found it and post it in this forum.

If you do that then the other regulars vote on it too. But make sure that it is actually abusive in the first place. Main things to look out for is words like 'BLAM' and 'FUCK THIS SHIT' and more things like that. I don't really care for my whistle too much, but I know that a lot of people do.
