Hey, thanks for the warm welcome back!

As for the Babylon 5 thing... that probably was and still very much is my favorite sci-fi series.

Here's hoping I update more in the future!

Of course I remember you Spaghetti! Glad to see you're still around!

Anywho, here's a revisit of an earlier post. I still haven't given up on the idea of 'Wind Claw'...

Could you draw Sheridan in his goddamn godlike appearance? Garibaldi won't agree, but that guy IS a god :D

Hey, I'm back with an update on an older piece I did a while back. This one is a revamped 'Darkling' (seen earlier in the thread). As you can see the Darkling isn't so different from say... Venom... in that it's a living costume that literally alters the host's body.

Oh yes, and while I'm here...
I was going through my own thread here and in case there are those that are still interested in the 'Wind Claw' series, I do have two test-run issues over on deviantArt. I'll put links below...

'Balance of Power'

'Saviors'

Hope to hear what others think!

Hey, I'm glad you like them! I usually get people asking if it's a more manga style (in many ways it is). I'm trying to distance myself by using more sketch lines and the like.

Oh, here's another for the forums:

well, the more I look at it, I think her head my just be a bit big. The arms actually seem to line up proportionally correct, but maybe its just me.

I like him its cool, but the proportions are off
chest and arms, chest too big, upper arms are way too short.
You would do yourself a great favor learning anatomy.

Hm, I was employing forshortening with the upper arms. If he was standing upright the upper torso would be four heads tall. I don't see what you're seeing (even with your skeletal diagram).

if the upper arm is foreshortening'd the hand should be bigger because its closer. as for the chest its horizontally too big. not vertically.

Ah, now I see where you're getting at with the chest cavity. The hand could have also benefited from being larger.

Not bad. Some of the lineart is wobbly. I have that problem, too. Anyone know of a solution for wobbly lineart? Patience?

What you should work on is making colours more solid, particularly the shadows. I can tell you used a tiny brush, as there are little gaps in the darker colour in places like the right leg.

A great way to get around the wobbly line (I'm assuming your drawing with a tablet like me) is that once you lay down your line work, go ahead and grabe the pen tool and set it to make simulated strokes. Then it's just a matter of 'inking' your lines.

At some points it's necessary to switch your pen tool to draw shapes, that's an excellent technique too.

As for my own brush strokes... yeah, I did use a small brush... it made the armor look... bumpy. Not what I was going for, that's for sure.

I do my linework with the pen tool in the first place. I don't know how to set it to simulated. What program do you use?

I use photoshop for a good chunk of these, and I use a tablet in conjunction with it (Bamboo's are affordable, I'm using a Vistatablet at the moment though).

Go to Window > Brushes (or just press F5)

From there set your Shape Dynamics to pen pressure and your Transfer to pen pressure. I know that GiMP has similar features to these in case you're using that.
