Oooh, I would have liked to see you post this during the afternoon to see what would happen when a lot more people were on. Well actually I know what would happen. A lot of people would come and say rap sucks with no real reason as to why it sucks, or they say the textbook answers, it objectifies women/only talks about money and cars etc etc.

I've seen enough arguments here about the subject to know that a lot of NG users who hate rap have only heard rap on the radio, which is the worst place to look for quality rap. They then base their entire opinion based on the worst rap and voila, rap sucks to them. They're missing out on the rap that has a message in the song. Messages that make you think. Of course I would suggest that they seek out this kind of rap and experience it because they really can't have a good opinion on the genre until they experience more than one part of the genre.

Also the song you posted was strange, and I've never heard of nerdcore. I don't think I'd be interested in looking more into it either. Just not my type of music.

you are what keeps newgrounds from falling apart. i saw a thread earlier that was "what if hitler won the war" the answer would be that rap would take over. thats just an opinion, cuz i cant really say that rap sucks because that is not a fact. but, in my mind, RAP SUCKS HARD! most good rappers that sing about shooting people get scared at the sight of a gun, some that talk about slapping bitches have families and would never hurt a woman. about that also, slapping girls is not that cool. you might as well be singing "FUCK THE NEGROS IM GONNA TIE SOME TO THE BACK OF MY PICKUP TRUCK AND BLAST DIXIE WHILE I DRIVE AROUND A COTTON FIELD, WHERE THEY BELONG!" cuz racism and sexism have the same impact on most people. that is why I think rap should GTFO!

Being an entertainer is considered a real job nowadays you know. And music is something that makes life more enjoyable for a lot of people so I would say that most of them are doing their part to make society better through their music.

Also a lot of famous rappers have a college background. They include Common, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Stat Quo, Paul Wall, and probably a lot more that I can't name off the top of my head.

this is weird cause me and my freinds were just talking about this mabey 20min. ago and i never look at posts (i dont know not my thing) well we were saying alot of what you guys are saying, but a good facter that you are missing is rapping is rediculesly easy (espicially in spanish, im not even gonna touch that one...) now im not saying everyone can do it, but there are so many rappers that they have run out of ideas for lerics, so much so, stealing from other artists has become clichie and other-wise normal. (its mostly a hit or miss thing) but not all rap is bad i must agree, espicially when they have a rock influence, or vice-versa. "linkon park" for example.
