I have a knife, when it sheathed, it looks like a small wooden block, that is why it's so cool.
Although, I do need to have it sharpened.

I don't. My kid has a habit of getting into my stuff, and I don't want her to get hurt. I really have no need for a knife, other than ones for food.

Btw, you're the stupid fuckface.
I live in the good old firearm loving, knife carrying South. I think I know about gun laws, and laws pertaining to concealed weapons, as I have studied them. I also know from talking to NRA members, SBI agents, law enforcement personnel, retired military officers, and gunowners themselves. I know perfectly well what I can and cannot carry, and I'd remind you to please not question me when I say i know something, based on your calling people names and your poor, inconsistent grammar.

You're telling me that when you leave the house you do all that stuff? The only one I can semi agree with is the bottle opener one but you can buy keyring bottle openers anyway. You don't need to leave the house with a knife.
Does that mean that not all deaths are needless? Look, 3000 people a day die just going to work. 150,000 more die everyday. You're just saying that because you see a few little 15 year old fuckers get stabbed on the news and think knives only purpose are for killing people. Which is entirly not true. Fisherman, hunters, Survival experts/extreme wilderness explorers etc all need a knife.
Of course THEY need knives, and they have a right to use them when it's about their work, but kids don't need them, and every kid OR adult that gets killed from a knife attack has died needlessly. There is a difference when someone has died naturally/accidently then when someone has been stabbed to death. It wouldn't happen if people didn't carry the knife that was used for murder.
I can easily modify an electric nail gun to shoot nails but I bet you'd never object to that unless I mentioned it first. Also, sledgehammers, power tools, saws etc. Are all dangerous.
They are, but you can't exactly fit them in your pocket as you get ready for a night out.

Neither. I'm from the "Hey ya'll, watch this" and the "If her brother ain't already got dibs on her"
south.
And it isn't black people anymore so much as it is Latinos.
And No, I'm not rascist. I hate everybody equally.

I open tinned foods because the opener is crap. I do that on a daily basis, I cut my food with it because it's sharper than a kitchen knife (I do that on a daily basis too) Also I work on cars, I knife is very handy when unscrewing jubilee clips, sripping wires or prying something that's connected via some sort of clip system.

Ok, is the crime rate for knives higher than the death rate for alcohol abuse? If not does that mean we have to ban alcohol? Same goes for deaths caused by car colisions.

I saw a guy last night carrying a brief case, it was easily big enough to house a nail gun. He slips it behind the bar because he knows the bar staff. He could be carrying a Desert Eagle in there for all I know.
Also, knives on a night out? Broken bottles would be my first choice due to the fact they're everywhere in a pub.

Don't you have equipment that does those things? In fact I'm sure there are things designed for each task. Besides my whole point is what you do with a knife OUTSIDE the house/work, I don't care if you use it to seperate your toilet paper, thats your business in your home, but you have no reason to take one with you on a night out, or going shopping or whatever.

There is an age limit on alcohol. There is actually an age limit on buying knives in shops, which of course is to help out in knife crimes, but of course when kids can just pick one up from home it's a bit pointless. Besides alcohol is fine, when drunk in moderation, people just go silly. The point is, if you carry a knife, it's a potential weapon.

Well next time get your knife out and beat him to his own game.

So leave you knife at home then and bottle some thug, or better yet the guy with the case.

Unless I want my tool box strapped to my belt then no.

Why would I need one on a night out? Doing daily chores is one thing but if all I'm doing is drinking and dancing then it's usage is now futile.
I think you've mistaken a knives purpose, it's not a leathal weapon. I don't need one for self defence.

The age limit for alcohol is the EXACT same as for knives. And I could just as easily twist the argument and say kids can get booze at home and smash each others face in with the glass.
Besides alcohol is fine, when drunk in moderation, people just go silly. The point is, if you carry a knife, it's a potential weapon.
When used in moderation a knife isn't a weapon. See what I did there?

Again, you're assuming I need a knife for fighting.
ITS NOT A WEAPON UNLESS YOU MAKE IT ONE JUST LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE! You could tie some cord around someones neck and that's just as bad a knife.

Not a fan of knives, there needs to be more restriction in terms of how easy it is for under 18's to be able to buy one.
then again i suppose while it would make it harder for kids to get easily concealable knives the kitchen is the next best place.

I haven't bothered to read much of the debating going on, but I'd like to state my opinion on knives being that every human being has the right to own a knife. It's the most basic tool that we (as humans) have created (except maybe the hammer) and can fill a variety of purposes. It's not just a weapon.
What can a thoughtful man hope for mankind on Earth, given the experience of the past million years? Nothing

However, the british government seems to have a paranoia about knife carrying. Basically anybody who isn't 78 is a likely mugger who just wants to stab people.
What are your reactions to people who carry knives?
Fuck people with knives, in 1 month when i turn 18 I'm getting a rubber bullet gun =D 1 shot to the head and your knocked out for 1/2 hour
