What a disappointment... really unfair votes here. A professional animator wins against a bunch of non-professional ones and an inside project wins against some really good games. Just about every other game on the nominations list were way better than NG Rumble, but since it includes NG characters, it gets the most votes. Sonny could've easily beat it out. And there is more to animations than just the art-work, but that argument has already been explained.

I think having Adam Philip here it'll make everyone else strive to be better. He diserves the award. He took the time to animate it and put it on Newgrounds just like everyone else.

you have a right to your opinion, but don't make uninformed statements.

NGR was not an inside Job, the animation was worked on after hours and off the clock from any NG duties. So this submission is just as legit as any of the others.

On the 7th and 8th? Fuck you Tom! I have a show on both those days.

meh this thread sure has gone downhill. I think people should just accept things and just move on with their lives, its always going to be forever contraversial to have to pick one movie and one game as the epitome of the year. This year this is how things panned out, next year who knows maybe youll be in the panel of judges and you'll set things right!

I think amist the negativity you lose sight of the fact that the site is going out of its way to really reward the contributions this year... its not some lame publicity stunt or car salesman type of thing.. its simply proud of its users and giving back for all thats been given to it. I dont see deviantart, kongregate, sheezy, ebaums, or whomever going out on a limb and doing that.

So yea the ones you wanted to win didnt win okay that sucks but atleast be proud that theres a site that isnt some weasel corporation trying to find ways to squeeze pennies out of you. Newgrounds isnt a faceless corp. it has a beard.

I didn't play Newgrounds Rumble until after it won, and I really enjoyed it! Well done!

I wished Spooky Scary Skeletons was up for nomination, that was my personal favorite of 2007. I kind of feel it was overlooked because of Blockhead Ghostmas, but hey, blockhead definitely deserved a nomination! I'm excited that Mastermind will be in the run for next year.

My sentiments exactly. Instead of celebrating the winners and NG (for actually having a prize like this), people are just ranting about why X didn't deserve to win Y. Which is quite ridiculous, really, considering that every single movie and game that was competing are simply excelent and have all been judged so by the very users of this site (just take a look at their scores and reviews).

With all due respect to Adam Phillips, I really think it's unfair that he is able to run in this contest. He is a professional animator while most of us are just hobbyists. It isn't right that we should have to be pitted against someone with such an advantage.
