Best of 2007 Award Winners!

For the first annual Newgrounds awards, we assembled 23 prominent members of the community across two panels and voted on a list of 36 nominees (18 movies and 18 games) pooled from the monthly awards, contests and staff selections.

We aspired for this to be a black tie event, but this year all we got is this front page post.

Musician of the year was selected based on the feedback of prominent members of the Audio Portal, as well as our own observations of which artists made the "biggest splash" in 2007. You can hear MaestroRage's music in tons of Flash games, as well as the upcoming Castle Crashers for XBLA.

USER OF 2007:
Luis

I personally picked Luis as user of the year because I can't think of anyone else who has voluntarily contributed more to NG. From participating in contests, to organizing collabs and community art projects such as the Munny Competition, Luis is a class act all the way.

You can come meet Luis, as well as MindChamber, The Swain, Krinkels, myself and a large number of other NG regulars at the Big Apple Con in NYC on June 7th and 8th! We're setting up a Newgrounds desk and hanging out for two days, where we'll be selling stuff from the store along with some exclusive (for now) items such as these embroidered Newgrounds patches! We're also giving away some fun NG flyers.

Congrats to the winners! Both flashes were excellent! Waterlollies has been in the #1 spot for top scoring, and NG Rumble was just a plain awesome game. Congrats!

Mmm, I just knew Waterlollies was gonna win. I mean, I obviously had to vote for him in my top 5, but tried to avoid picking it for the #1... Adam's too damn awesome for his own good. Wasn't really watching the games page, but I'm not really surprised NG Rumble won. Congrats to both of them, I hope they enjoy their trophies :)

Also, congrats to Maestro... didn't expect to see that category, but was well needed, as the audio portal is important, too ;)

Voting was hard, I honestly spent way too much time doing it, especially when I could just just picked Waterlollies from the getgo probably ;P

Well, looking forward to next years awards. Hope to be a part of the team again, was fun :)
