I've noticed this a lot while on Newgrounds, many of the metal songs that are posted people think are absolutly amazing but half of them sound like they are slapped together with half assed vocals,or mediocore gutiar riffs. I sat down and listened to like 80% of the songs and out of that 80 like 10% was actually decent. My challenge to you all make a metal song that completely makes people shit themselves with true amazement.Next chance I can i'll post a song or two to show everybody up,but I would at least like someone to give me a good fight, make somthing sick, put part of that darkness in your soul into the song.Lets hear some damn good metal music!!!

Wouldn't this just be a chance for us shredders to advertise our music?

I agree entirely, most of the metal submissions are too generic and nothing really stands out.

Also soon as it will let me, I'll post up a Metal song as well. It's a remake of an old Blackened Death Metal song that a friend and I made back in 2005. Since it's an old song, it isn't my best, but I'm not going to compose a whole piece just for this challenge. I think it's better than alot of the stuff I've heard here though.

Err, isn't the main difference between Pro and the stuff here simply the mastering? Just run your tracks through a transparent limiter at +15 dbs of gain, and your track will stand out.... Or at least that's what the record labels think. And what they think, everyone else thinks too.

NEW SONG! Check it out:

I can't stand doing that to my tracks. I only half master them. I usually end up using a + 5-8 db depending on the song itself.

Tip: You shouldn't have to. Try to get as hot a signal as you can, then make all of your stuff at an acceptable level. It should hit around +0 without limiting. Or, you can take the more advanced route, and make everything LOWER than it needs, so the boost really brings it back to normal, and isn't more than needed.

Its just fun to listen to remasters vs. the originals of classic rock music. You can really see the differences. It goes from a round-ish sort of thing to a rectangle. The rectangles are what you don't want. Sadly, our ears have been desensitized to it, so its hard for me to tell.

No, I only do that to get it close to todays mastering. If it were up to me, I'd apply a little multiband and that'd be it.

You're challenging all the metal-makers to something unique and truly special?

OH SHIT, you are ON. I make a brand of metal I promise you no one else here does at all.
I'll be back with a track soon enough!

Hey guys, you all do realize that volume maximizing is only ONE THIRD, if even that much, of the mastering process, right?

Speaking of which, I will remaster one of my metal tracks and post it here in the coming week. Keep an eye out, it's a good one!

Well my excuse is, they ARE half assed slapped together. I have zero time, to actually function on a project.

Would love to hear something of yours to "show us all up" as well. Just give me a PM when you upload it, and I'll fast track the approval process.

I think he just knocked the wires loose to the pickups, but there's no way to get to them to solder them back together.
