Weezer music video: Stolen idea?

I found this video sometime yesterday. It's the new Weezer music video, and it stars, yet again, popular internet stars. However, this one looks like it actually has these people (Tay Zonday, Dance guy, moron queen) acting in this music video, which makes it unique, and awesome. But, we've all seen this idea done already. Internet People by "The Meth Minute", created one of the first internet stars montage, and we've all seen this south park episode. Has Weezer created somthing interesting and unique? Or have they simply jumped on the bandwagon of making these internet people even more famous?

I would not consider two sources a 'bandwagon' at all.

Well yeah, i know that. But this song is actually somewhat good. So, i have a little more respect for that group.

Also, i noticed that the idiot queen has become increasingly hotter in this video.

It's still a new idea, so they didn't jump the bandwagon.

Also, they included far more Internet jokes than any of the other examples.

True, this was a very good video. Much better than any other sort of "internet star montage". But i think that, this will hopefully be the last of them. We've already seen the original videos numerous times. And even though there has only been two other major videos of the internet stars, i think two is enough. These were BIG hits, and i'm sure Weezer is going to get alot of credit for this new creation.

I just hope this ends soon.

I wouldn't say unique, as bringing memes into the real world is nothing new, regardless of how many were put into the music video.

Considering the fact that the things that got famous on the internet are being ripped off, you can't really give out about Weezer ripping off the people who ripped them off.
