I’m an always-active college student so I don’t get much free time for anything else. I do attend a good political seminar though when I get the chance and I do vote. It’s the least I can do.

I was really involved in high school, but now that i am in college i am playing a sport which takes up all my time so my greatest political involvement is the essays i write for my polisci class... Plus all my idealism is gone, hooray!

I used to be a moaner.
I have only recently gotten involved with politics. I think it was the suuposed plan to double tuition here at Maryland over the next two years that set me off.

I do not participate yet. I do not simply plan to have my voice heard. I plan to take action.
I need wealth and power to do what I plan on doing.
That takes time, I am building the foundation now. :)

you'll be demanding that your neighbours keep their grass verges trim and tidy next right?! :)_*
That depends on what you mean, I'm not 18 yet so I can't vote, not that it would make a motherfuck of a difference.
=)
But yeah there's a difference between moaning and raising political awareness through debate.

Actually, I'm the type of guy who sits around and fuels the fire...

I go to protests (I went to four of the five large anti-war rallies in SF). I write political columns for my friend's newsletter This Is Unity Music (a Berkeley punk zine). I am a volunteer for the California Green Party. I write songs for my band that have political messages. I vote.

Given my recent influx of work, I've not had as much time to get into politics as I would like. As of late I've been to a few political rallies, spoken a lot at schools (people think I'm the voice that small children want to hear. I think they're on mushrooms or something like that). I'm flipping the coin for the Indianapolis mayoral debate -- not really politics, but I get to be on T.V. Never lose an opportunity to saturate the media with your image.

A political column in a punk zine? Well, that's a first... Actually, the Rolling Stone usually has something political in there... Hey, is the Rolling Stone even considered a punk zine now?

I'm currently writing for a website (it's not published yet, but it's on its way soon!) and generally arsing around. I went to several Iraq war protests and I want to join the "anti-globalisation" movement but my city isn't very active so I' kinda screwed. Mostly I just drink and moan.

Im not the kind of outgoing guy that goes around trying to change everything. Thats just not me. But on the other hand, I just don't sit there and complain that the world is going down the crapper. I do however voice my opinion, but I am veryy cautious when I do so. Im just not a very agressive debater. I analyse the situation, then calmly point out whats flawed in my oppponents theory. Unfortuanetely, I don't really talk back to the ignorant "fuck you; your'e gay" when I do make a point.
This BBS sure is different. You can just type whatever without fearing repercussions. Don't get me wrong, im not a weakling that just shuts up and agrees, I can, and have in the past, hold my own ground and kick some ass.

I debate whenever I can. When we had this book discussion for english class I was so excited. I always was the life of the conversation and it was me and some girl vs. the entire class really. No one agreed with us but I used sneaky tricks. Even when it wasnt my turn, we got to ask questions. Its funny how people agreed with the side that is portrayed to be right, but if you look beyond the persuasive words you see the truth. I rambled again.

In politics? Give me a break. Politics is a waste of time. Even college educated Political "Scientists" can't tell the difference between their asses and their elbows most of the time.

DEpends on what you mean by politics. If your talking about the Bullshit where laws are passed and action taken that make no sense except to please a group of people who bitch alot than you are correct, Solamnus.
If you mean politics as in seeing a problem in society and making some kind move to make a change in society to get it moving in the right direction, then you are wrong.
But each view of politics can be used on any given situation depending on the observer.

Yeah politics is a waste of time. I sure wonder were would would be without it though eh? Politics is the basis of our society. Everything is linked to politics, like it or not.
