I like how you guys think i should stick with one and others think i should spread it out but EVERY ONE OF MY SONGS except one HAVE GOTTEN +95% and top of the class :P
so yea i am still kinda stuck, but thanks for all the great points and stuff :D

I do create my own music. And i do not follow some strict formula. I write at a piano, and when i hit a block, i can easily use theory to break the block.

Well, musical diversity isnt bad at all, however if you are known for a particular genre and are wellknown (dont get your hopes up), then you will probably be criticized for your attempts at diversity.

I, myself, am very diverse; however it doesn't mean im good at such diversities. People are mad at you for your hip hop attempt because it was really good, and other artists are jealous because how well you executed it.

Diversity is cool, is always good to open up new horizons and possibilities. But not in a random and disconected way.

Most people aren't diverse, they are either random or "jumpers". They do some songs in a style, then they jump to other style and so on.
In other words, they don't finish what they started, they don't go deep into the knowledge. This is an human trait, actually, any site that offers creation of content you will see this, people start drifting from one thing to another, seamless.

You should aim for diversity, always, but only after you got a solid base on the area that you're already in. Have a deep look into an area, try to learn what you can, see the cool points, and then when the well is "getting dry", go to another area, collect knowledge, and mix all you've learned.

I generally stick to vg - and whenever i diversify - people always seem to get up in arms at first... and then forget about the song.. kinda pisses me off.
