I was just wondering (for the benefit of the viewers) two simple questions. one is general, the second involves action script (I think >< ).

1) How many layers in a flash movie would it be recommended for me to keep within to let an animation/game run smoothly for a viewer.

2) What is the coding used to change the quality of your animation/game. I should be able to easirly covert the coding into a button aswell right?

well thanks to all those who take the time to answer my question in advance,

Doesn't matter. An actual flash file, when compiled into a SWF, uses Depth (manipulated in Action script), not layers. The smoothness is from just how much graphic you have. If you put a tree's individual leaves on a layer each, at the end it won't really matter (depending on how many leaves you have).
