Anyways I love the simplicity, grime, and textures. And I like the limited color scheme. It like defines your style. Man. haha

Also that poster thing is cool but it looks kind of like a bloody nipple.

And thought I'd put my weekly anagram thing in here just to keep track of it, put it in the books :P

So that's two votes for removing the taco's and showing the underlying layer.
You know you have drawn out the boobies Spaghetti, oh yes you have.

Maybe add a couple of occasional windows somewhere at the top?
Or maybe one relatively big "windows-logo"-kind of window somewhere down?

Actually I totally fucked over the layers while making this due to color issues and never drew any nips, sorry :P

Every time I add windows to those sort of buildings, they end up looking way sloppier than if I just leave it alone, but thanks for the suggestion! Maybe I'll try it again, but I'm pretty hesitant.

I can actually visualize this! Thanks jonny! And thanks for making it actual non-boob related advice.

I found this on my school server from my computer graphics class last year. It's backwards cause it was designed to be ironed on to a t shirt and I cbf to reverse it in photoshop right now. It says fringe shift and if you've been following my thread, you'll know that it's my friends' band.

I know it's kind of a useless bump, but I'm just putting it in here that I am gonna be on my school's newspaper next year! Also possibly the yearbook. So those are some cool art/design related things coming my way that will help in terms of practice/experience/putting on a resume or college application or whatever.

Also just so there's art in here, this was my anagram thing a few weeks back, never put it in here...

Hey, I thought some of my early stuff was decent! I still like the eye I did. I don't really know if this is a compliment or douchery... Maybe elaborate on what you mean? "In your style i guess they could be considered good" sounds kind of condescending... And imma keep it all in this thread, just so we can see how much better I DO get.

Made a logo for my friend who wants to be a DJ. Got paid a little bit, but I had fun making it anyways :) Lemme know whatcha think of it!

Fun fact, the original image is 8000x8000 pixels because I started out using Illustrator.

dont take this the wrong way, but i think this is a bad logo.
I do think you have the right idea, theres thunder coming from the music, and since thor is the god of thunder it must be good. although i feel like this is an image, instead of a logo. i'd suggest to make the LP simpler, the gradients take away the attention from the whole. using the font into the symbol doesnt seem a good idea since it makes the symbol more complex, and making it more complex will make it harder to read. the font is also to small compared to the symbol, when the whole is made smaller it would be very hard to read. i'd suggest to take the font out of the symbol, make it bigger and place it underneath.
just remember that less is more.

Nice simple design. Maybe you could do some variations with alternate colours?
I'm not gonna give any suggestions, I'm horrible with colours.

I like it, but I think it would look better using black and white only, and maybe making the "DJ" bigger and putting the "THOR" outside. I don't know.

He wanted me to put red in there because he's in a marketing class and said that red/black is a good combination of colors that projects the image of power apparently. Whatevah. I'll look into black and white.

I kinda liked the font, but whatevs. I'll see if one with holes looks better when I'm not so busy.

Thanks for the fancy critique! Personally, I like the gradient because it makes the record look a lot cleaner/nicer, but I agree that the font is a bit off in terms of size/spacing. Most of the negative things are concerning the font, so I will definitely do some research on that. I am taking a small typography course this summer I believe, so that will help as well.

I'm proud of this one! I did it for my cartooning class. I'm just gonna copypaste the description I used from the portal version, which you can find here! Please vote on it/leave a critique while you're there if you like.

We were instructed to make 1 pencil outline, 1 shaded pencil, 1 pen, and 1 oil pastel drawing of a celebrity as a caricature. I think I missed the caricature aspect a bit and instead just created more of a stylized drawing, but I'm still happy with the end result. Each of the 4 pieces on the board is 9x12 paper. I don't know what kind of paper, but its thickish

Here are the reference pics I used to help shape my drawings:

It's a `pretty interesting picture indeed!
I like how you used different coloring/shading styles for each one (except the pencil outline one), but still kept the same style for the shapes.
My favorite is the pen one.

So how long did it take to make such a composition? It must have taken a decent amount of time. You mentioned you had a friend work on this with you, did you have a good idea of what it would look like before it was finished or did you too improvise as you went?
