Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond.

I feel like the audio portal needs to bring something back from the old, remember the silver, gold, platinum, and diamond discs from when a song is really great?

Well, I feel that it should be have a return to the new portal!

It also gives the artists some more motivation to make a good song.
Also it feels very rewarding to get one of the discs.

Yes, thats what I mean.

Back then in the old portal, everyone was try to get a disc (mostly platinum or diamond)

The diamond disc looks really shiny too XD

then have the rim of the disc change colour and have it glow, gold, silver or white with sparkly shit, i liked the system

but i think it shouldn't be based on downloads, im not sue what, but there should be a fairer way of determining which songs deserve higher status

Ya, i like the idea about the glow!

Actually, how about if a song is good, the disc gets a trim of the gold, etc and have a glow too! This way it wont replace the persons disc icon.

Or have an option in the audio options for your songs, if your song has a good rating it will have an option saying - Replace Disc Icon with [Metal]?

I remember them. But I remember the problem that they caused unfortunatey because a collaberation me and another artist did was spammed. People spammed downloaded tracks which makes it unfair to the artist for giving them false hope.I think that's why there were removed in the first place.

But I miss them and would prefer them back rather than obselete as they kept me going.

Will you stop whining? Seriously, it's getting old to see everything you touch turn into a 0-bomber rant. And your logic makes no sense, because somebody with one 10 would be able to get an award. Downloads works fine, very few people are lame enough to download their own songs constantly.

Or perhaps they can give them when an artist reachs the Top 30 and just give a bronze or silver if you reach the Top 5 and depending on how many times you appear on the Top 30 you'll get a higher disc (bronze then silver, gold, platinum, diamond, etc)...

That doesn't work either. I should of had been there more than twice in the past year at #12 and #29 for two different tracks. They sort of didn't get there... Not that i'm turning it into a 0 vote rant. My main point is that they don't work anymore.

That's a good point. It'll really frustrate the mod's on here too.

It'll cause more 0 rant threads too and there are already too many of them. We don't need anymore problems with them unfortunately!

No matter how you go about it, things will be exploited. People will just spam download's or fives on songs to get an award and eventually they'll lose any meaning. I'm an advocate of having a daily 10 on the audio portal, but realistically additions like these just cause more zero-bombing, more manipulating of scores, and more bitching.
