If directors want to make something completely different from the game they should be dragged in to the middle of a street kicking and screaming and be shot. Or they should just name it something different. Honestly. If they didn't name it House of the Dead I wouldn't have even know it was a horror movie...
why put rap in a horror movie...WHY!?!?!?

i take back everything i said.i did a search for the trailer and all ive got too say is dear god why.its got nothing to day with the game at all.since when were the zombies made by a spannish pirate and who brings a 12 gauge shotgun to a rave.zombies die if they have no head its been around for years this movie is destroying tradition of zombie movies.i also dont remember the zombies in the game being able to run real fast or jump.those were monsters.this movie is going to destroy any credibilty sega has.

I was unaware that House of the Dead actually had a storyline. Silly me, I thought it was just run around and shoot stuff. Personally, sense the game itself lacks a story line, I think this is going to be the first game-movie that actually sticks to the story line. It's still going to suck, don't get me wrong, I don't think I'll ever live to see the day that there is a good movie made from a game (or vice-versa for that matter).

The Doom movie... that's going to be interesting. Has anyone read the Doom books? They weren't great, but they weren't horrible either. If they can give the movie the same thing that the books had, sadly, the Doom movie would be the best Game-movie ever.

no its a buch of normal teenagers at a rave on a mysterious island.they get attacked by a bunch of zombies.they then find a shitload of guns and they pull off every matrix effect ever concieved and the do it badly.one bitch jumps in the air with a 12 guage fires it and doesnt move from the spot.

yah i saw that in the dumb commerial, i think instead of being stuck on an island full of zombies there actually stuck on an isnald full of idea cast and crew and a director who doesnt know shit about shit

like i said the movie probaly wouldnt be that bad if it didnt have a damn skank floating in the air shooting a gun. also i went to the web site and looked at some story board drawings and saw that they were going to have a zombie do a front flip. thats really going to make it suck plus the zombies can run, when do zombies run, flip and use weapons??

the game might be okay but a movie on it, im not so sure about that.

i guess nobody read my review on the movie. i saw it the day it came out...

The problem with these video game movies is that the suits in hollywood think of them as an excuse for an 'ameteur hour' production. Why can't they put some REAL writers and directors at the helm for these projects, instead of hacks and newbies to the movie game? People who *know* how to adapt a damned video game plot to a movie! Or at least make it faithful! I don't recall seeing idiot raver chicks in any of the HotD videogames!

To credit, though....I thought that Mortal Kombat 1 was cool and that Resident Evil was tolerable..

Actually HOD series does have a storyline. Those guys that you always shoot stuff as, they are part of an agency, that agency happens to be in the buisness of getting rid of the pesky undead. The first game took place in a very large mansion(sort of). The mansion happened to be a sort of breeding ground for all those undead buggers. The second HOD was about two more of those agents who were sent to a european city(no clue which one). The city was filled with the undead, they found out that a large corperation was behind everything(story loosly resembles RE doesen't it!). The third HOD I haven't played yet so I can't say anything about that. Thing is, however the story isn't very deep, it still has a linear path that it follows, the movie has NOTHING to do with any of the plot, WHATSOEVER! That is why I'm so annoyed, plus the fact that I stated before, they just had to fuck it up and make it more "modern", so that it will appeal to all those teenagers that barely have brains.(Which seem to be everywhere nowadays). Anyways, just thought I'd larify that for you.

And now for slight change of subject matter. At any rate, the new FFVII movie - Advent Children, look through the Search engine if you want a topic on it -looks set to be much better than the HOD movie.

1) First of all, it's a FF movie actually connected to the games.
2) Square/Enix are supposedly writing and CG animating the whole thing.

So that's the good news. Now the bad news.

1) The last movie made on Final Fantasy was The Spirits Within.
2) It's rumoured to only be available on video/DVD. In 2004, Japan release.

Well a lot of Games-to-Movies haven't followed the storyline from the game. Thats O.K. it can still be an excellent. On a different but still related note I'm getting sick and fucking tired of all these horror movioes mad for teenagers. Such and Final Destination and the like. They're fucking shit, I've made more horror after getting up in the morning.

well, advent children will be releases IN america- packaged with FF7-2 (Or is it a remake now?). I seen some pics awhile back. Now i almost h8 RPG's, but i will definitely buy this one...

And btw i saw the movie and it sucks ass! They show a stupid little videoclip from the game as it is relating to the storyline(if you can even call it a storyline.) of the movie. It is also very poorly acted and too short. Holywood sreally fucked up big time on this one.

It looked kinda decent the very first time I saw the preview until.....they added those so overplayed, gay Matrix moves, and then that lame ass "Y'all gonna make me lose my mind up in here, up in here" song. Yeah, that was insanely idiotic.
