Stealing Gas At The Pump

Now that gas is at $4 a gallon....for the first time in my life, I can't afford to fill up my car with gas because I have other expenses that take priority, but that also leaves me with the problem that I can't get to school, and etc. without a god damn car that runs.

OK, now my question is....is this a good idea? I'm thinking about pulling up to the pump...and filling the gasoline into the car all casual. Acting very nonchalant like every other patron, but when I go inside my car to get the 'money'...I'm just gonna drive away.

I already figured that I have to position myself at a pump that has the worst line of sight from the inside clerk and I'd figured I would want to do it when there is a lot of other cars filling up.

Has anyone ever done something like this? Does anyone have some suggestions? Does anyone want to send me a couple of bucks my way so I can live?

There are security cameras at most gas stations that catch license plate numbers.

Have you considered a bicycle or the bus? I ride the bus everywhere, it saves a ton of money. Dunno if that's feasible for you or not.

Yeah, listen to that. You may be able to get away with it once or twice, but I wouldn't try it...

And I couldn't try that even if I wanted to. The pumps at the gas stations I go to need to be turned on by the clerk. (Unless you pay with a credit card).

In Texas if you do that you license are revoked, you get a fine & goto jail for up to 10 years. So if you think it's worth it, go for it. I am sure the laws are pretty stiff for stealing gas.

Just goto the places that are necessary & not just cruise around.

Not really the best idea if I'm honest. There's every chance of you getting caught and even if you don't they'll be on to you pretty quickly. That means you moving to Mexico just because you wanted some free juice for your car...

Its just fucking gas, sell something if you really can't afford to miss out on shit and you need the gas that bad, don't risk your entire future for something so small.

Don't plead to NG for money. You don't need a car to "live". There's always alternatives. The number one way to solve the current energy crisis would be cutting back on driving and walking, biking, carpooling, etc.
