Putting the Pentagon in a game.

In my game, one of the armies is the U.S., so, to keep yourself in the game, you have a main base, which is the pentagon. Of course, if you loose, the pentagon is destroyed.
Here's the problem.
Following the 9/11 attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade center, many other games have been controversial for featuring either buildings as destructable saying they promote future attacks and are offensive.

I don't want to get people angry at me, so should I take the whole building out of the game?
Or replace it with the Hexagon (cheap copy...)

Perhaps make the game 10-20 years in the future (and have the game state so) and have a fictional building in washington? or even another place.

Well, if the aim of the game is to defend the pentagon, it shouldn't offend anyone unless they have an airplane manned by bin-laden crammed up their ass.
However, if you want to play it extremely sissy-like safe, stick with the hexagon.

What i find is (and im blind and short sighted), hardly anyone cares. However, you get people who are bored who like to just complain about everything, or like to make "good points" jus to extend the length of their e-peen - in thier mind.

I say screw anyone who dont like it. You never forced any1 to play. And I reckon the vast majourity wont give a damn.

I agree with everyone here. We won't mind the controversy. In fact, I kinda support it. Go ahead and place the Pentagon in it! Using the Hexagon kinda ruins the effect of the game. (Unless it's a humor-based game. And the soldiers are teletubbies.)

Newgrounds has a lot of controversial flash on politics already: one more wouldn't hurt. Heck, you can probably even get yourself into the Politics Collection.

The game is kinda humor based, and in the comics I based this after, I state that it's the Hexagon, the cheap version of the Pentagon. And your goal is only to defend it if you play with the U.S., other then that, if you play with the satelite, SquidLO, or the aliens, you have to capture or destroy it.

The whole reason why it's the pentagon in this game is because there is no Hexagon tool (and it's nearly impossible to draw it with a brush) in flash. And the game won't be set i n the future, soley because it's based of the shooting down of the satelite they did 2 or 3 months ago.

There is the polystar tool. Just select that and change the number of sides in properties panel > Options.

...Most controversial flashes end up in the 'Bastards' Collection.
But I guess that really depends on what direction you want to take this.

i think they'd be more pissed off if you did a hexagon since they can tell you mean a pentagon and they'll think you're trying to be sly. Do a pentagon, more controversy = more traffic to your game = fame for you.

Not unless your playing as the Satelite, SquidLO, or the Aliens.
But that's not necessarily your MAIN objective, you got other enemies and objectives.

Plus, we have plenty of controverisal things on Newgrounds, 95% of us don't give a shit, and the only 5% are just bored little kids who think they know when something is wrong.

And like everyone here is saying: there's nothing wrong with controversy. In fact, most funny things derive from controversy.
An example is punching babies, funny- yet controversial.

Ugh, with all the sides, you might as well make the game around trying to retain as many sides as possible.

Hexagon --> Pentagon --> Square --> Triangle ---> ... Twin Towers? Iunno.

But if it's humour based, I guess parodies of stuff are fine. But just because parodies are fine, don't be afraid to shy away from controversy.

Besides, none of us HERE objected. It's safe to say a vast majority of Newgrounds won't mind. There will be the occasional troll, but that's it.

Maybe I could have the option to build either a pentagon, or a hexagon, the Hexagon is more durable, while the Pentagon gives you more money per turn.
Or something like that, it would piss you off, but not piss you off at the same time.
