I smuggled my iPod into school today, only to find out, it wont turn on. It bugs me all day as I know I had a fresh battery. I get home and plug it into my computer hoping that I left it on over night and the battery drained, but no. My iTunes wont even recognize that I plugged it in. I double checked my USB cable to be sure it was in, and still, no dice.
A few minutes later, I was at the Apple Website, looking up ways to reset it, but they only offered help if it was recognized by iTunes, or less than a year old (still under their coverage) but mines knocking on 3. None of the buttons are working to activate it, and hold is off.
Any suggestions on what to do?

How can Ipods be of the homosexual status you say it is being, even though it in no way can be "gay"?

Have you tried pressing the centre (select) button and the menu button at the same time to restart it?

Hard reset tends to work.

Restore it to factory settings in iTunes and then re-import your music.

Look. His iPod is probably dead. You either need to try to get the battery replaced or get a new iPod. Those are the facts, I'm sorry bro.

I've had the same problem with a 2 year old Nano a few months ago. When I went to the Apple Store to see what they think, the guy basically told me I was screwed.
Sucks. But you know, least my iTunes didn't explode as well, can still listen from my comp.

you hold the middle and menu buttons down for about 5 seconds, while having the iPod on a flat surface such as a desk. Works all the time for me.
