I think she is being selfish, her son is a danger to others, and until he is no longer he should be barred from that church. The church understands damn well he doesn't mean it, but that doesn't change the fact that he does it anyway.

I don't know who's right, either. But I think the church should be more comprehensive and tolerant, while at the same time the parents of the child should take more care of him when he is near other people.

I think it's pretty simple, if the kid can't behave and he poses a threat to others, then the church has the right to say he isn't allowed in there. He needs to obey the same rules as everyone else. Although, I feel there must be something they can do to keep the kid from hurting people/being a disruption, but that's his parents responsibility. The mother should blame herself and not the church, because obviously, she should be doing a better job of supervising her son if he acts this way.

While I sympathize with the family and think the church is being a bit cold I think that if he honestly is a possible danger and is highly disruptive then he should probably be kept at home. Instead the family should talk with their priest about possibly doing an in-home visit once or twice a week for communion, bible study, etc., so the family will still be able to participate with the church without everyone else feeling uncomfortable, endangered, or whatever.

There's other ways to worship besides inside the church itself. The family should probably try to explore those options.

I agree with you there, I mean sure they are religious but they have no right to disrupt services like that, seriously he punched a kid that's not something you want in church.

It's obvious that the only reason the church don't want him there is because he's likely to kick up a fuss and start yelling if the priests molest him, unlike the other kids who'll sit there nice and quietly.

But seriously, it's tough for the parents and the family of this guy but they have to accept that if their son poses a danger to other people, he should be kept out. I mean, it's not like church is a necessity of life. It's not like he's being barred from entering a hospital or anything.
