looks pretty good i suppose. The highlight on the eye looks kind of weird.. i know its like that in the original photo too but i think you could either add a bit more on the left eye to balance it better or take some of the highlight out on the right eye so its not so dominant. It looks kind of weird as is. tat looks a bit flat also.

Hmm, good job 'shopping the face to make it magazine worthy. I'm not sure of the Tattoo though, but looks alright. You changed the hoodie to purple, and I see that outside of the sweater (on the background) There is also purple. I'm not sure if that was done purposely or not, but just saying that if that's not what you were going for, take it out. It could go on as an "aura".

The cover seems... bland? It doesn't give the reader of the magazine a lot to look forward to. You have a banner on the bottom right in just white, talking of Iron Man. It seems to big. I recommend looking through famous/ popular magazines to see how you can implement advertising for the topics that will be discussed in the magazine.

So basically, great job with the photoshop of his face, over all good job on the magazine, though a tad bit bland for a cover. In my opinion, at least.

So the font eh? Got any propositions? Because these are like...School basic fonts, just picked tahoma and verdana because, well, simple is safe.

Why not add a border like Time Magazine has?

when it comes to magazine covers simple is not safe, its ugly and = no sales.

look online and compare fonts to known covers.

You did a good job fixing your photo. Overall the cover's very grey; the most colourful thing being the hoody. :/ Well coloured text, possibly even a v. simple patterned background can change that.
The title doesn't stand out either because it's not contrasted enough compared to the background, and uses a bland font.

As others have said, existing magazines are good comparisons.

looks cool, as mindchamber said the fonts are way to plain

also that white strip shouldnt just be a white strip

to me it offsets the whole image, try spicing that up graphicaly(maybe adding a border and such using a different color)

1. You removed too much "skin folds" below the eyes. (or whatever it is called)
2. The "modified" skin is too bright and it got too much reflection compared to the rest of the picture. (It's too white)
3. The sweatshirt has been rushed and the color overlay over the skin and background. It is also not photo realistic.
4. The tattoo is a little lacking in shadow/hightlight, but it's nothing major.

5. Gray is an HORRIBLE color for a magazine cover. You want bright color, bright white, light blue... something that is going to catch the eyes.
6. Font is boring, so are the effects on it and the colors.
7. The strip shouldn't be plain white. If you want it white add some texture on it.
8. "Do the test" button don't fit with the rest of the magazine.
9. Text shouldn't go over the person in the photo unless it's the name of the magazine or if it fit with the picture (the person is "holding the text", ect)
10. The "Hot news" need to be more organized on the magazine.
11. The price tag is too big. (Don't be afraid to rotate it to the side if you want)

12. Don't be afraid to move your picture around, you don't need to be in the center of the magazine.
12. Use bright colors.

Sorry for only stating the bad things.

The tattoo is much more convincing now. When it from his neck to his face, it looked flat and not curving with him. The additions are good, however, I still think the bottom right banner looks awkward. I'm also going to have to agree with MindChamber about the fonts.

Thus far, you're doing a great job. Do some hardcore magazine cover art studies and implement some of the ideas, and you should be good to go!

Right now your cover seems to be somewhat lacking overall contrast. I would put a levels adjustment layer over the photo and bring both the black point up and the white point down. I would make sure that your text (especially the logo) is closer to a pure hue or pure white so it has ample contrast with the background. If you look at it from across the room with your eyes blurred and you cannot distinctly tell where the text is from where the image is, it still needs to be tweaked.

Also, try to align your graphic elements not just right and left justified (still do that), but vertically align them with major focal points from your image. The mouth makes a strong horizontal line, and can help to lead the eye into a headline if one is placed to the right or left. The same can be said for the eyes, and even the nose if you do it right. Think of where you want the viewer to look first, and try to create a smooth path that will take their eyes around the entire composition without jumping back and forth.

I also just noticed that your shirt needs some work. Try leaving the stripes black and varying the opacity of the color adjustment with the history brush (if it is a direct color adjustment), or using quick mask and a low opacity brush setting (if you still have the original image within the file to work from). Also I would leave the inside of the hoodie white as it was in the original picture, and soften the edge by about 5-10 pixels where the purple part meets the inside to make the transition look more natural. That's all I have for you until you post a more updated version.

LEFT-
Looks better. You need to bring more attention to your eyes, which have lost their effect since adjusting the photo. Mask out your iris in your eyes, add a hue/contrast adjustment layer (bottom of the layers tab, looks like a circle half white, half black), turn contrast and lightness up slightly (don't overdo it though). You might need to reapply the highlights afterwards, but you will have to see how it looks first. If they are still to dark, set the color mode for the adjustment layer to either screen or color dodge and drop the opacity until it looks ok. Also, the red text is too dark against the background, try more red-orange and lighter. If that doesn't work put a hairline white stroke on it. The sphere on "do the test" needs to be brighter. There needs to be a lower highlight, and the upper highlight should have a subtle gradient so it begins to fade into the sphere as it gets toward the middle of it (look at this for reference: http://www.sphere-designs.co.uk/). Change the text on do the test to white, and bring all text layers to the top so they are not affected by photo adjustment layers.

RIGHT- I like this composition, but text placement needs work. Green is not working try a different color. (also break that into 3 lines and left justify). "Comes with free bag" should be slightly below the heading, right justified. Try using either Myriad Pro or Arial Bold for your font, and decrease the point size until the left side lines up with the H in Douche. Also find something to put on the right side to take up some of the empty space. As far as the photo goes, my only complaint is that you can see white stuff in the hair where you cut the background. Use a low opacity eraser (10% or less) and make several strokes from the hair outward at the edges to get rid of this problem. If you really want to you can do the same thing to the levels that I suggested earlier, but it really isn't as necessary as it was with the other one.

It may be a little tedious, but you can try making the head of the person overlap the header.

I've seen that in some magazines. It looks quite appealing, also makes the face look more real.

HI! I Think u should change the colors ... because the background is too sad and your hoodie is so ... I don't know.. colorful? so you wanna make all see you face not your hoodie that maybe could be criticized XD (again...because of the color) changing the colors of the "entretainment" could change the whole thing :D
btw, in the "do the test" .... you must change the "am i gay" !!! hahahaha the first thing i thought was... doing the test for knowing if He is gay or me? XD wtf hahahahaha better something like " find out if you are gay " yes, you write something like [ test: ] and then you write the text i said, down the small "title" :P with a small background transparent questionmark as someone up said :D, the white stripe across the corner... mix white with another color less basi maybe..

hope my suggestions help you, :D

In order to fix the strip on the first magazine cover, try making a rectangle and then rotating it accordingly in order to make sure the lines are parallel rather than guessing. i would also suggest a different color for it, the reddish color or whatever isn't pulling it off. This is what sticks out most in my head. The cover is also very flat and has no depth. I would recommend changing Entertainment into one color rather than having two separate colors splitting it up. Also, I would lose the 'Do The Test' button. The first thing that pops into my mind is "Are you [the maker] gay?" There are thousands of subjects you could put on there rather than a 'Gay Meter'.

Presuming that you will be turning both magazine covers in together and that both pictures are supposed to be of the same person, the second magazine cover that you have made lacks the tattoo on the neck. I would suggest just getting rid of the tattoo since your skills of distorting accord to the skeletal structure aren't very experienced.

Disregard the previous paragraph if the tattoo does not have to be on both pictures. Thanks for taking the time to read my advice and I wish you luck with your project.

Heh heh. I like you named the magazine "douche". Perfect name for a magazine, yet nobody would ever use it. :P
