I'm also sorta miffed that Sweden didn't get a higher placing... Was our entry really that bad? I know the singer looks scary and that I might be a bit biased, but I actually thought it was one of the better entries in the entire contest.

Despite myself, I actually enjoyed this years one. Even though Ireland were taken out before the final.

Greece.... So hawt.

I can't believe we fund such an embarrassing contest. Even Terry Wogan didn't seem to have much to say during the songs (or was he silenced? Conspiracy!)

Before anyone points this out, you're damn right, I wouldn't have been whining if we'd won. Or even come anything but last.

After it became obvious that Finland wasn't going to rank very high, the Finnish commentators kept saying "Oh, well. At least we're still doing better than Sweden". And they childishly started hoping Sweden would get as few points as possible. It was fun for a while... till Sweden got 12 points from some country and got past us.

I say the Soviet and Jugoslav peoples have been divided for too long from their bretheren, and the poor folks hhave to resort to voting for eachother in the eurovisions to scrape the remains of their national identity. I think they should re-unite the east block as two or three big countries...

And give Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Basques, Lapland, all states of Germany, and maybe a few rogues French areas representives and votes.

Also, wtf, why isn't the Vatican represented! And if Israel is allowed in, then so should Palestine. And to bridge all the countries, throw in Lebanon.

That's actually a pretty good idea. Two million Latvians (27% of them are ethnically Russian, thank you Wikipedia) should not have as much of a say as 64 million Frenchmen, so if you split France up into smaller territories like the Languedoc, Champagne, Burgundy etc it would be a lot fairer.

They probably don't want to join. Morocco is the only Arab(ic) country to have ever participated in the contest and they did that when Israel hadn't in sent an entry.

Russia was a huge load of pseudo-artistic shit, but Greece was even worse and tackier. When it looked like it was only going to be Russia and Greece fighting for the victory, I kept hoping Russia would get more points than Greece. Russia was shit, but we should all be very thankful that Greece didn't win.

While that would be unfathomably awesome, to be honest I doubt it would be good for our Bill in the long run, what with how the UK always does terribly in the contest no matter how good their song is due to all the political bollocks.
