Why Gta 4 Is Violent?

There are so many more games that a way more violent than GTA IV, gears of war for example(sick ass game dont me wrong)is way more violent the most games on the market but only GTA games get shit. the media needs to find another subject to talk about other than video games. because GTA for has made the news every year for like 8 years in a row. no one really cares anymore.

why some video games always the center of controversy? there's probably even more violence in movies. in fact, it's probably easier for kids to watch an r-rated movie than get an m-rated game. it pisses me off when people judge video games without actually playing them. I've played it, and I would agree. I have a nine year old sister and by my personal responsibilities as a brother, I don't let her watch me play it. So all these conservative dimwits who go all about saying WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN?!!?, if you are a parent, DON'T LET YOUR KID PLAY THIS GAME! It's that simple!

Anyway I'm 20 years old I'm ok to play that game, but I have not got the GTA 4 so I'm buying that game soon and are you 18 or even 21 to play everything on GTA? is just a Game not even Violent.

I think parents just need to be watching what kids play and see, especially with the internet, I mean, you can watch someones penis being cut off, or someone having there face being ripped off or something else.

Even though its sick, downright sad and just out of someones mind, I would say just to parents (Or carers) watch what your child is using.

even though the ESRB is supposed to be secretive, they have a bad impression for rockstar, best contrast i have is watch clips of a game like Ninja Gaiden Sigma, tons of gore, but its in the bright daylight. Manhunt 2, find the uncensored video clips on the net, they arent that violent, its just the fact that its so personal is what made that game AO unless they censored it.

GTA is violent because it's called GRAND THEFT AUTO for God's sake.

I mean, it wasn't going to be about playing a game of tag with bunnies. I guess they figured if they were going to make an "M for mature" game, they may as well go all out.

I don't see what the big deal is. I mean, making a game out of drunk driving is a bit much, but I think some people just take it FAR too seriously.

People don't seem to have problems with OTHER games where you kill people, such as Call of Duty... is it because it's war and it's the American thing to do?

All in all, though, I think it's just because senseless violence is the perfect market in the world. It allows you to take out your frustrations without the consiquences of carrying out the actions in real life.

Well, there is a lot of violence in the game, plus other things (sex, drugs, etc.) but they do give a warning on the box so they can't be sued for anything really.

Although, I heard San Andreas is getting sued for the hot coffee scenes.
