Enjoy.

Sorry if this is old news, I just went on the Mozilla site and found it.

I should try some of those out.

Yay
Isn't it lovely that when the audio contest I've been begging for a whole year comes up, the judges automatically disqualify me

So, is this better than my Beta 5?

I submitted the next version of my theme for it about 6 hours ago. It's pretty good and a little faster, too.

Yep. Not sure what "candidate 1" means though, but I assume it's the first version out of Beta - but not an official release.

There are meant to be two release candidates before the final version and unlike the betas they are more likely to be "polished up" or refined(bug checks and optimisations) rather than adding new features.

Just a question, I've only been using Firefox for a few months, but when FF made the jump from V1 to V2 how long did it take before the majority of the add-ons were made compatible with FireFox 2? I'm loving FireFox 3's basic features and layout more than FF2's, but the lack of add-ons annoys me.

They release very fast, within a week or two, from what I've seen with the Beta's so far.

Oh, and for the AdBlock and more basic things, day or two I'm guessing.

Cheers. I've gotten used to not having many add-ons over the Beta releases, and I'm too lazy to go back to Firefox 2, so I guess I'll just wait until some more shit becomes compatible.

I have no idea, since nearly all Firefox addons are developed via third party, it depends on the developer and if that addon is actively updated.

Another thing to consider is that some people only develop for official releases so it may take a while to get an update. The only reason I released my theme early was because Firefox 3 became stable enough that I didn't have start over from scratch every time a new version came out.

The RC has only been out for a day and many addons that were compatible with previous versions will need an update either in what version of Firefox is acceptable which can be done instantly or a more recent version of the addon that goes to a queue for a review and check before release if it is a public addon or instantly released if it is a sandbox addon.

The only thing I'm annoyed about is my theme (NASA Midnight Launch) not being compatible, I really don't like this default white one. It's regularly updated so it should be compatible soon, I hope.

You had the same one I did. It just got released though, so ya, a compatible type should be released soon. I like this thus far, though the speed enhancements are very minimal. Just looks like they made things look a bit nicer. I like the "Most visited" tab addition though.

What happens if you disable the compatibility check? It should ignore the version requirements of the theme and try to load it anyway. If happens to crash the browser, you can always Firefox in Safe Mode and disable it.

1. Enter about:config into the address bar.
2. Right-click > New > Boolean. Set the name to "extensions. checkCompatibility" and make the value false.
3. Restart Firefox.
4. Try to apply the theme.

It's RC/Beta software, there are always risks. And you were warned in the known issues that installing both to the same directory can fuck it up. If this is what happened then make sure the Firefox directory is deleted. Let me know if this is the problem.

On a side note, the new version of Newgrounds Classic was just approved and is available for update or download.
