Because its fucking amazing.

I just got back from seeing it and it is everything the first movie (The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe) should have been. This movie is a lot darker, and while there still may be a lack of blood in most of the battle scenes, there is definately a lot of implied gore and a couple slashes. When someone dies, you know they did.

There's a lack of Mr. Tumnus (sp?). This could be a plus or a minus for you. It means that there aren't any horny goats running around after little children.

I don't do spoilers so I really can't say much else. Its a darker fantasy adventure, with a slight religous message that you can easily ignore if you choose to. There's a bit of comedic relief that lightens it up whenever it threatens to get too dark, but there is also a realism and a bad guy that's not pure evil, but just standard I'll kill you all evil but still be human.

100 thumbs up, plus they did what should have happened LOTR at the battle where the ents and their forest were supposed to show up, but didn't. Ok, small spoiler, but you won't mind.

Go see it.

so it's better than the first by a long shot? because it was quite obvious why the first one lost to pirates in pretty much every category they competed in.

are the GRAPHICS beautiful too? previews seem to show that they are

Yeah, its better by a long shot. Women don't like it as much because of the lack of overwhelming cute and tea parties, but the battles are so much better, as is everything else. Also, its not really competing with anything else thats out right now.

Pure and total eye candy. From amazing landscapes to just really cool cgi. I honestly felt that a lot of the land scapes were better than LOTR.

I heard it was mediocre from the reviews I've seen, but I read the books as a little kid so I'm still going to see it (prolly tomorrow). Hopefully I'll like it.

Did the prince did out to be the dreamboat that they wanted him to be so that the movie would appeal to chicks in that manner? Because in the "previews" of the movie, most of it was him in the wind or moving in slow motion sooooooooooo XD

also, i can't wait, totally taking my new miss tomorrow :)

I'd rather stick to the books, rather than see those (what appears to be) shitty movies.

Great movie, just watched the late show. I recommend all for everyone to watch it as soon as possible. You don't know what you're missing.

Caspian is a bit of a pretty boy, but I can forgive him for being beautiful, and they don't over emphasize it.... too much (at least till the end :o)

I hated the first movie more than Norbit, and that's a lot of hate.

I was beginning to feel as if a trend was emerging among Hollywood blockbusters where blood and gore was being phased out to garner a lower rating, thus more children/families could see thereby raising box office revenue. I call it the Peter Jackson Effect, (who, by the way is making the Halo movie so don't expect it to contain any "gore" despite the amount of inherent violence.) That turd had a golden opportunity to go all out with Kong and instead gave me 3 hours of people walking and CGI as he did with LotR. WAD.

But, after seeing a story on the news saying Prince Caspian was getting flack for being "too violent" for a "children's movie" my interest was sparked. Anything that gets that many white people pissed off is worth a gander in my opinion. I just hope it's not teeming with Christian overtones like the first one, I don't remember, it's been over 15 years since I read the books in school.

I think I'm going to skip this one regardless. It seems like nothing more than empty spectacle. There was some serious shit going on in LOTR (corrupting influence of power, environmentalism depending on who you ask, possible implied homosexuality, etc.), but Narnia has always seemed to me to be just a generic good vs. evil fantasy story, a generic good vs. evil fantasy story with a Christian slant at that.

Nuh uh. Not for me.

In other news, I'm the only one of my friends who wants to see Speed Racer :'(

The only thing that I didn't like about The Lion Witch and the Wardrobe is that it felt way too rushed.

Question for those of you who saw Caspian....did you happen to watch the old movies beforehand? The ones with the british kids....where Edmund was a redhead and Lucy was a fat girl with buck teeth?

For whatever reason, those movies were superior to the new Narnia movies...at least from what I remember....

It is more obviously overtoned in christianity, but so is LOTR if you look, just not as blatant. This movie was a lot more diversified in mythology, though there's still a bit of "THE LION IS JESUS IN CASE YOU MISSED IT!" There's some other stuff in this movie as far as themes. Just basic belief is one, growing up is another, innosence, and a large bit on racism.

I think some of the later movies may get too heavy into the christian themes for me, but Prince Caspian was fine. Just forget you know who jesus is.

"Yes, I'm a mouse. You people show no creativity."

"Yes, we'll gather nuts and then throw them at our enemies."

It was just one good line after another. Also, acting was a lot better this time around too.

GOD, it was so good.

Even though the Beavers were in lame ass beaver suits, it was still such an awesome job. They paid attention to details....I've read every single book.....it's such excellent stuff.
