Ok, so I had a look around the Clubs and Crews forum and couldn't find a topic about this yet, please correct me if i'm wrong.

Background Info:
Anyway, as you guys will know, everyday loads of flash submissions are submitted without custom display icons. Either the author is too lazy to make one or he/she doesn't have the right software to make a good looking icon of those dimensions. I propose that we work as a club and strive to make icons for the submissions without them to make Newgrounds look better! I myself have already submitted 100+ icons to help the cause so far.

Useful Stuff:
- Icon helpers page
- I recommend using MS Paint and Fireworks to produce the best quality icons. Take a screenshot of the flash window, paste it into MS Paint, then crop the section you want to use, resize in Fireworks and then export as a GIF.

I make icons sometimes when I have nothing else to do. I made about 100 so far.

I use GIMP for making icons. I used MSPaint, and I had colour loss after saving it to .gif. I highly recommend it. Also, it's free!

I hope this club survives!

Fan of Deary here. I'll join. I use a little known program called Photoshop Elements 4. Too poor to get 6.

I don't know, I guess it could be quite fun. I do enjoy making icons for stuff, it's kind of relaxing, how about you?

Right now, I am trying to make NG icons with the program GIMP like Nuts said. My problem is that when it says to press m and hold shift and make the box, all it does is drag the picture. Can I get any help with this? Thanks in advance!

I don't see why you're doing this. When I make icons, all I do is crop the part of the image I want (hold Shift and press C), resize it and save it as a .gif. Usually I don't use the move tool, just the crop tool. =)

I had a good idea: making some sort of weekly report on the icon helpers page. How many icons were made and how many are left to do. It's small, but it wouldn't be bad nor hurt anyone.

Right now, we have 903 done and 22,333 required.

he was a review mod for a little while, then he become a fully fledged forum mod quite recently.

15 a day is very good. I usually do them in clumps of 100 or so.

I do about 2 a day, but I stopped doing them a while ago. I might come back after studying like crazy. I like doing icons, it's pretty fun cropping images. =)
