Why are people saying Britain is a monarchyl. The queen has next to no say whatsoever in how the country is run, it's all left up the government to decide how shit is done, and they don't exactly do a fantastic job.

It's a constitutional monarchy, but the Prime Minister has a lot more power than the Queen, speaking for Britain anyway. The United States is a lot more democratic that way.
