Hey there!

During the last month i've been hearing a lot of funk music, and i have to say i really love it!
Because of that now i want to create something like that, but i don't know if it's possible to create songs of that style with FL or any other program, and in which one it'd be easier, or has more samples or options to create it.
Also, i'm on windows so Logic isn't an option =P

Thanks!

Nick

Off topic, but that's me playing the guitar =P... small pic due to size restrictions -.-'

What would you recommend?

i would suggest FL, it's really easy to learn but you can do awesome things with it.

if you are experienced with music, you could try Cubase SX3 (lots of peoplez, including me, use it)

I see, thanks!

And what would you say it's the main difference/s between those two?

Any other suggestions?

FL is A LOT easier to use, and cheaper too, a far as i know prices for cubase are 800+ USD and FL is 480 (with lifetime of free upgrades, so you buy FL8, you get, FL 9,10,11,12 and so on)

Cubase SX3 is only recommended to start with if you know really much about music.

BTW, i've also read about a free DAW, called Reaper or something.

That might be nice, but i'm willing to pay some cash for a good soft, since i really wanna get into this.
I'll try to investigate about that reaper when i get back from college.

Thanks!

you already play guitar, so, all you need is a "fat" bass and some rhythm (you may write the drums or take some funk drums from here )

basicly you can make those with both programs (Fl or Reason) but i like Reason more

Alright, i'll compare some prices and see which one is better for me =)
I do play the guitar, but my hardware isn't good enough to be able to record it, i've played a few times connecting the guitar directly into the sound card, to try to reduce the noise (like when you play with the amp and record it), but it sounds terrible haha.
So i suppose i'll have to make those with FL or Reason too.
