This isn't really programming, but it is about computers so I'll go ahead and post this here.

OK, here's what happens. When I give a command to my laptop, like double-click on a .wma file or something -it could be anything- the screen goes blank for no reason. And it doesn't always does this, just sometimes.

If I close the lid and open it back up, no response. ctrl+alt+del, no response. The only way to get rid of the situation is just to shut down my computer, which sucks if I was downloading 3 or more different files which became like 70% and it all goes ka-pow >:(

Has this happened to you?Any thoughts about what I could do to bring the screen back to life?

The manufacturer might have a support forum; that'd be a good place to check if its happend before and what the remedy is. If not either google it or contacting the manufacturer is probably your best bet.

It's about 9-10 months old. It's new.

Hmm...I guess that would be it, but I want to hear out a couple of suggestions from here too. If I can't solve it this way, then that'll be the last thing that I'll consider.

sounds like the graphics card to me, this sort of thing used to happen to me, and it turned out the gfx fan was jamming.

My dad's Dell started forming hundreds of lines down the screen to the extent where you couldn't see the screen. He had to get it replaced. It doesn't sound like your problem though, is it under warranty?

It might be, but I think I got what was wrong with it. I think there's something wrong with the battery, because it happens only if I'm running on power. And when I pull out the charging cable. Or it might be because of high CPU. I don't really know, I just try to avoid these things, and things seem fine with it. For now.

Thanks to everyone who tried to help though.
