When is the next time America is going to kick ass and chew bubblegum in a war, like they did in WWII? I'm waiting for the next time we fight a country that actually has a war machine that can stand up to ours, not getting held down by civilians and guerillas.

Maybe we'll just nuke every country, so we get it all done in one sitting?

Okay... explain to me how you came to the conclusion that World War II was "dignified".

probably the next war will be with iran or other communistict contries who hate america( everyone does besides like 5 countries) but the next dignified war will probably be when i go into the marines( guessing my luck)

We won the War in WW2 because of the man-power Russia, and the U.S. industry. And we won because U.S. was about 1,000 miles away from the war which was taking place? Though, we did kick ass.

Never in the foreseeable future, really, which if you think about it, is an actual sign of progress in the world. Yes, we still have our scuffles with the shithole-of-the-week, but since WWII, no world powers have actually gone to physical war with each other, and now, relations among the first-world countries are pretty amicable. So...good for us.

There will never be another war like World War 2 because the threat of a nuclear strike would hang in the air if two superpowers fought, much like the Cold War. Sure we'll go and fight against insurgents who don't have those kinds of weapons, but you can bet that if any two superpowers with nukes are about to go to war, there will be a ton of negotiations to try to prevent war because if they did and one side started getting desperate, they might turn to a nuke which in turn would mean the other country using a nuke and that is the last thing we want.

The future of war is highly uncertain as far as I see, but we'll probably never see anything like WW2 again.

Says the guy who goes on to assume that Americans think that everyone else is communist. Granted your right that Iran doesn't have a communist government, but lets not take one persons mistake and pass it on to everyone in a country.

There is no power in this world that can match the U.S' power.

Maybe China or Russia, but war between them and the U.S. seems very unlikely, and it would be extremely devastating to the world's economy.

War is not good, so I hope there is no "dignified" war in the future.

Right now, all of the major militaries of this world if they are fighting are fighting guerrilla soldiers. Such as Americans fighting Jihadists and insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan, and Russians fighting Chechans in Chechnya.

WW2 may have been "dignified" because we completely kicked the fucking japs asses to hell. But look at how much the world lost from World War. Would you want that?

War has never been dignified. Killing a fuckload of people for the sake of your beliefs, be they moral, political or religious is never dignified.

Some people might think it's cool to be in a war, but if WWIII were to occur

1. If there is gonna be a war there will be huge fatalities

2. The economy will screw up entirely, and it will take a very long time till it's fixed

3. The majority of people will be homeless

4. There's a chance there will not be a recovery

5. The major damage will shorten the earth's natural life or maybe completely destroy it.

6. If you go home after fighting there's a chance there will be no home, no food, no family

By a dignified war, I mean that we went in with a clear moral purpose, fought for what was right, and our enemies were as strong as us and evil as hell.
