No splitscreen

I just bought the orange box for ps3 with my friend in hopes that i would be playing team fortress 2 with him in a few minutes. to my dismay there is only online play. this is a problem with a lot of games these days. what happened to the good old days when i could kill the gol dragon(phantasy star online) with three of my friends at 1 in the morning. the next generation seems hopelessly geared towards social retards.

Splitscreen for TF2 would be very difficult because the Source engine+ the cel-shaded graphics of TF2 would really strain the system if there were two screens to render.

I think that's the issue with a lot of games that are coming out with no split screen. It's just difficult currently to render the game twice. Developers are focusing more on online play instead.

And that is why you read the box before buying the game. Besides, Team Fortress...<<<TEAM>>> Fortress. Considering, to my knowledge, Xbox 360 by itself can only have 4 people playing on one console, Team Fortress 2 would suck(the game is only fun with at least 8 players). The whole idea is to have a bunch of people and have huge firefights and stuff like that. Trust me, I have tried playing with just a couple people and it is boring as hell. Splitscreen would suck and I doubt an Xbox could be pushed that far anyway.

I'm starting to get pretty good at tf(my friend left hours ago) and I plan to play portal next(although i already beat it on a friend's computer.
