Am I supposed to rate 0?

I notice that whenever one of my songs are doing decently well, some guy will come out of nowhere and rate it 0. Is there some regulation on Newgrounds that says "Songs by new members must be rated 0 if they are otherwise rated highly"?

Please explain this phenomena to me.

allow me to explain. There are people on this website who think that the best way to get their work on the front listings is to vote zero on anything doing better than them. For talented but poorly known artists, this is nothing short of devastating.

I Myself am a victim of this.

songs generally get destroyed right off the bat - regardless of who you are.. some ppl it just seems to affect less than others, depending on your voting power, or theirs.

EVERYONE gets zero voted - ESPECIALLY the veterans.

Live with it, find some allies, and combat it.

Sorry if it seemed like I was whining, which is the impression everyone seemed to get. I know complaining about it does no good, I was just wondering if there was some secret Newgrounds ritual or something. :P

can you imagine being 0 bombed on the old system when you could only vote on a submission once ever? Being able to vote once a day has been more of a blessing to the newbies.

Calling attention to yourselves over this kinda stuff is never good.

Also to touch on what housemasta said - be glad everyone can vote every day - in the past if you were zeroed by a bunch of people - you were pretty much finished. That led to a lot of infighting and wars and team ups and blah .. it was messy.
