Achievements also add another level of play to the game. I know that I wouldn't play the same games over and over as much if I wasn't playing for the achievement...

But no, there is no point to it. Just fun.

its meaningless, however can start competitions etc. which is no bad thing and could extend play time on games ... or ruin them as you ignore the story etc so you can get each achievement.

Usually if you cheat (infinite ammo, life, armor, whatever the crap.) An acheivmant is stopped.

it makes you look bigger to others and you are more likely able to brag or help them

also the other day i saw this guy with a gamerscore of 101,830..i nearly shat myself when i played with him on aegis wings
