Halo the movie?

It has been in the works for years now. I personally think all the games that have been turned into movies have all turned out pretty good. Which i cant say the same for the other way around cause i think moive based games suck some serious ass. But anyway a Halo movie when it does finally come out it will be great. But you will probably have to wait as long as the next KH.

hmmm what I've heard is that it will be another 2 - 3 years now since the script got scractched again, so they are starting again, hopefully peter jackson will get off his fat ass and make this movie

I gotta say, that was a pretty kick ass trailer.

I also like how they don't show Master Chief but the way they talk about it over the comm and being willing to lose that entire squad to locate where he'll lands makes him out to be a fucking beast.

That's not the Halo movie. That was part of the real life trailers they were putting out before the release of Halo 3.

The actual Halo movie has been put on pause as of now.

1. There is no Halo movie in production. Pre-production was commenced at some point (they even had a fully working Warthog), but the director dropped out and Peter Jackson moved on to other projects...he's a busy man.

2. Seriously, I'm not so sure it would be the greatest concept for a movie. Master Chief is a completely one-dimensional, archetypal joke of a shell of a character, and the general plot is paper-thin and derivative. Unless the screenwriters had some serious creative license (which they wouldn't) and great talent (which they also wouldn't), I don't think they could pull off a decent film. It would make a shitload of money, of course, but it would be a terrible movie.

It's never coming, it doesn't need to come, I like Halo, but it upsets me that the Halo movie is just some movie designed to make billions of $'s by overhyping it and then having masses of Microsoft and Halo fanboys flood the theatres to watch it.

That's just a fan blog, moron, posting old news recently for some reason. And as for this "Peter Jackson Halo Project" thing, it's a video game, if anything. Jackson is no longer connected to the movie project. Neither is a director or any crew or any sort of production team at all, which seems to indicate that there IS NO FUCKING MOVIE!!!

Peter Jackson IS the director, there is a crew, and if you actually bothered to read it, the news is dated, and there is pictures of the weapons being developed. I never insulted you, so there was no need to call me a moron.
You don't even have any sources for your information. The newest Magzine of Xbox360World has an article about the Halo Movie. Is it still outdated news?

Personally, I didn't like the shaky camera(akin to cloverfield). While a bit of a shaky camera is good(it makes you feel tense) the camera was shook waaaay too much.

Well I want to see it because it looks like an entertaining movie. It's going to be very interesting to see Halo 3 portrayed in real life. So far, the trailer shows that Peter Jackson has done a very good job so far. The spike grenade effects and the other stuff is almost exactly like it is in video game.

I wonder if Masterchief will be in the movie, if it ever comes back to production.

From what I know, he wasn't ever intended to be the main character. They would do something like what was done with the Doom movie, for three reasons.

One, motivation. He as a person is not very interesting, and a lame Hollywood emotional conflict couldn't take place(OMG THE PROPHET OF TRUTH KILLED MY FAMILEEEY) with a guy who's just... there with a gun.

Two, Star Power. Imagine that someone made an Ender's Game movie, had Sean Connery star as Graff, and put a paper bag over his head and muffled his voice during his performances. You can't really say "HALO: THE MOVIE! STARRING DAVID DUCHOVNY! IN A FUCKING ARITIGHT SUIT! if you're going for star power (and this movie would get tons of it), the main character's face needs to be seen.

Three. Personality. This one is almost like #1, except that the writers would be given absolutely no creative liberties to work around this with.

As for actually being in the movie, I can't see him being there ALL the time. He spends 90% of his time away from every human, killing aliens. Probably between-mission scenes, but I wouldn't bet on much else.

I REALLY hate to ruin the Halo vibe, but if anything is going to be an awesome video game movie, it obviously should be Metal Gear Solid.

If Peter Jackson does it I may consider it, seeing as I also own Halo 3 so I sort of have two reasons to go. I didn't watch King Kong all the way through either, so this should be good IF he does it.
